midplate pics

i have an aluminum midplate and motor plate. so i guess i could do the tube thing and hang an aluminum plate just as easy as the steal one.
also my experience with running a front plate and no mid has not been very good, what do you guys think of not running a midplate on a 600 horse bracket car? keep in mind this thing gets a whole lot of passes on it as we run
points at at least two different tracks every year.

OK dumb question, so sorry in advance...
I have heard of guys putting additional bars in to stop front to back movement when putting in motor plate/midplates over conventional motor mounts. So the question is would it be a bad idea to have that front/back support going to part of the cage?
For example in the style like Ty and Steve, can you put a bar from the top center of their midplate mount to the dash bar of your cage?

That's why I was thinking of connecting it to the cage, no clearance issue with trying to squeze headers into these tight engine bays, but I wasn't sure if attaching the midplate mount to the cage would be a good idea or not. In theory it is all welded in anyway so there shouldn't be a difference, but I wasn't sure...
