just as the title says, im looking for midplate pics if you have em'. or at least an exp. of how you mounted yours.

we ran 1 5/8 tube and bent it 2 times and welded it to each frame rail then welded nuts inside tubing and bolted it in.

we needed all the header clearance we could get... thats why we did ours like we did.... we cut the "ears off our mid plate

that last pic is what im looking for, but the other side is where my concern is, the fire wall comes out farther on that side and it looks like there wont be enough room for the plate.

thanks guys i see what some of you are doing now, and steve, i have seen your car at the drag expo before and even talked to you and had forgoten all about how you did your plate.
thanks for the pics guys, now its time to go bend some tubing and get it done.

see im not soo crazy after all... hell even burkhart mounts them like mine

just make sure you mount the motor and tranny as far back as you can to help with weight distribution..... the motor and tranny are the heaviest pieces so moving them back 1" helps TREMENDOUSLY

Ty and Steve, I assume you guys are running steel mid plates and welding them, if not how are you mounting them? I was thinking about running Alum motor an mid plates, but can't see a good way to mount Alum to the mid plate support you guys are using and have it hold well...

AM Motor and Steel mid. We weld a bracket into the hoop to bolt the mid plate to.
