25.2/25.3 good to 6.0 sec. C5 Corvette LSx Build
#43
Straight from the rules on Texas True Ten5:
10. Rear Frame rails must be in original stock location (minor notching allowed for tire clearance)
11. Mini Tubs allowed
12. Any rear suspension allowed, 4-links, ladder bars, etc.
Once all the welding is compete in the rear of the car I will reinstall the original rear frame rails.
The LSX shoot out drag radial class also has the same rules.
2009 LSX DRAG RADIAL CLASS RULES:
Fully tubbed or mini tubbed wheelwells and notched frame rails permitted
Factory rear frame rails required in OEM location
Wheelie bars are permitted
Stock type suspensions, ladder bars and non-OEM 4-links permitted
Coilovers permitted
When I first started building this car I was going to install a Moser F-body 9" along with a BMR extreme torque arm and BMR F-body lower control arms. Actually I had it all in place ready to install. But after much thought I decided there was just too much contraversity with that setup in a C5. Sorry Paul. So I decided to go with the four link. And I feel I've made the right decision. The four link offers so much more adjustabilty. As my horsepower increases, and I hope that happens, I will be able to tune for that. Also the adjustable rear shocks allow me to be able to run different height rear tires. I have two sets of 12" alumastars and will get a third set at a later time. I want to have a drag radial setup, a 10.5 set up and the biggest I can get back there (31") for some grudge racing. Once again, this is my first time I have ever built a car of this nature. This, by all means will be a learning curve for me. As I do plan on doing all the chassis tuning myself. This in no way means I am not open for susgestions, cus I am. I am allways willing to learn. Who know this car my end up bieng a turd for all I know. I will just have to wait and see. How they say, you can't learn to skate if you don't fall down.
Once again guys, thanks for all the compliments,
-Dave

So its like limited street but with factory frame rails. Got ya.
Good luck with it. I wanted to build a c6 outlaw 10.5 car but I couldn't get the ride height I wanted with a 33 10.5w and allowing for tire growth. Went to the 02 camaro body instead. Rocker is 3" off the ground front to back.

Here's some detailed pictures of the construction of the kingpins.
Very Hot!!!!!
This all gets welded up...
The finished result after a little time on the belt sander.
And now off to the machince shop to get them drilled to accept the strange spindles. It's very critical to get the correct center and right angle drilled in them. Once I get this done I can work on fabbing up the caliper brackets and steering arms.

looks like you've done it SEVERAL times before.... good job. props to building the custom parts yourself... you end up learning more about the car when you do it yourself any ways instead of finding some one elses mistakes.

Well it's been a while. I had some health issues, getting old. Now it's time to get back to work on my car.
I got a some of the front suspension done.
This is what she should look once its in the ground.
I gotta get working on a powerplant for this thing.
