Default Rx-8

I've got a friend with an RX-8 and he claims he's getting a turbo soon, and talking all the mad ****. Mods are in sig, and will include the cam in there by the time he's got that turbo in.. Any ideas on how it'll go?

Hard to say....he's gonna be one of the first people to turbo the new Renesis motor. I wasn't even aware anyone had a turbo set up done for one already. Last I heard a company in Cali. was testing and developing. The new rotary is 50 horses less than it's RX7 twin turboed predecessor so it should be interesting to see what it does after a turbo.

He probably has the riceboy mentality and is just talkin', I bet he hasn't even researched a turbo set up for it yet. Even if he does get it it will be a 'tuning nightmare' for the first few months until they get it right so I wouldn't worry...just be sure your car is set up/tuned well and be ready for him.
You have Nitto 555R Drag Radials in 18"? I thought the only 18" Nitto DR out right now (more 18s are coming) is the huge 305x45x18 (too big for the wheel well I thought)?

Well, he's my next door neighbor, and frat brother. I like his ride, it's neat. I just can't stand that he's got his friends convinced it'll be faster. I asked him to run tonight, and he told me he's still breaking it in, I agreed it was a good idea. As for the Nitto's 285/35/18, enuf' of us here at LS1TECH, and many other I'm sure, wrote Nitto emails about 6 months ago about it, they're a little pricey but they make 'em (order of course). As for the turbo setup, I'm trying to be real about how to go about it, but I'm not really getting through i don't think...

Best of luck putting a turbo on the 8. He'll need it.

I read somewhere that a turbo/twin turbo was talked about.. but who knows if it's available. He might get you out of the hole, and a 9k redline.. but top end is where the LS1 will prevail (uneducated guess, of course!) Then we'll see who ZOOM ZOOM's who.

It's a nice car.. just saw a black one.. pretty.

Thanks for the specs. I'm looking foward to running him, I think he'll respectfully quit then. Laters.

"As for the Nitto's 285/35/18"

Where can I get these? They're not listed on Nitto's site.
