picked up a lot of extra space to work on the motor. I can change all 8 plugs in 5 minutes.

Mines off too and I'm getting a damn work out. I've been thinking about putting it back on. I wonder if it would make it any easier if I could put some power steering fluid in the rack then loop the line? I know with my last rack all the fluid had leaked out because it was busted but it was still easier than what it is now.

Yeah it is but I'm not sure why. When I did have power steering on the car the rack was busted and all the oil had leaked out and it wasn't anywhere near as hard as it is now.

run fluid in the line, i used some royal purple gear oil, and i run the tires at 50 psi. before when the tires were at 40 it was a PITA though.

I didn't gain anything with powersteering removed. I looped the lines, and was literally used to the manual steering within a day or 2. Most times i forget i don't even have power steering anymore. Obviously tight parking lots and whatnot its different but really not bad at all.

my car has a spool in it, that doesnt help the matter. i had it looped with fluid in it and i couldn't tell any diff. was planning on a manual rack but i may be loosing my job so i really dont want to spend the money. i just put the ps back on we'll see if it slows down.

I've had the PS off my car for a couple of years now...when I had a posi rear it wasn't bad at all...tight spots were a small pain but nothing too bad...now I have a S60 w/spool and its much worse than with posi...might put it back on someday or else just break down and get a manual rack.

I have power steering in this Firehawk and my old TA that ran 8.90s, power brakes in both too. For the weight and HP gained its not worth it for me to take it off..
