I give you MAD props for doing ALL those holes, esp the little ones, damn. I did the same thing while swapping motors inside my doors on the arms that go up and down and that **** was the biggest PITA ever!!! I know the window arms are A LOT thicker than the thin sheet metal you were sawing (I actually broke the strongest round saw blade I could find and had to change sizes) though I only had to make 10 holes on each side, still, those holes kill ur wrist (esp someone who has broken/dislocated theirs 4 times
) But that shows dedication to me good sir. Good luck with the rest of the build, cant wait to see that shiny Lsx w/GM orange paint under the hood roar to life!

Thanks guys. Hopefully will have some more pics this weekend.
Yeah the holes were pretty terrible. It gets worse with the bigger hole saws especially when you use a big 1/2" drive drill. It bit so hard one time it about threw me off the car! haha... Like I say, if it goes anything x.999 time wise it is worth it. If it went x.001 I would hate myself for not doing it!
On the roof, I thought it was really easy. Probably one of the easiest things on the whole project. Only part that takes some patience is getting the fiberglass roof off the car. Other than that, two cuts and some spot welds and its done. I don't know exactly how much weight it saved. Probably 10 lbs or so. I was more concerned with getting the glass t-tops off the car. Last thing I want is one of those breaking.

A little more progress. I have decided to turn the elbow back into the fire wall now that our local class will allow lexan. Went in and cut the steel dash out. Knocked out another 12 lbs. The floor of the cage is done. The main hoop is done. A couple more of the bars are fitted. Hope to have the main part of the cage all welded together this weekend and get the funny car cage in! Trying to get everything with the chassis buttoned back up before the engine hopefully gets back next month!
