The Rookie vs. the 25.5 project.
I've used this site for some of my ideas, tips and parts. I want to thanks those who have helped me from here and the sponsors that have supplied me with many of the parts. Hopefully some of you will see this car at the 2010 LSX-shoot... Still lots of work to do, but it's getting closer!

This is what I started with. 1999 Camaro. No engine or trans. $750.00

Here it is gutted.

Another gutted pic and some clean up.

Starting to cut out for the Wolf mini tubs

Another tub cut out pic.
I love watching builds like this come together. Could you share some more info on the build? Edit: Sorry, Ill let you finish posting lol.

I also think that the sponsors needed a kudos too. I got almost every part from some form of contact from this site. (Sponsor or vender of a sponsor) It cost big money to advertize here so I thought they would like to see their stuff in this build.

I saw how some of you guys put a bar across the back of the firewall to hang the mid plate. It will work, but I "think" it would still be able to move back and forth under extreme conditions... But I could be wrong. So I decided to make a brace off the back side of the mid plate and attach it to the cross bar of the cage. Notice it's still removable by removing the two large bolts that go through thick wall sleeves to the bracket. Nuts are welded onto the sleeves so you don't have to crawl under the dash to hold them. Folks, I can tell ya... This sucker isn't going anywhere until you want it to... And once the dash is installed, you won't even know it's there.
