Yes, ALL of them.

Regular eaton posi, or a spool. That's pretty mch the options IMO. Detroit locker, for a race car, yes that will work too. Street car, I find that clunking and whatnot, especially with rod ended suspension, well annoying.

Okay, so some people say all true tracs suck, while some say the 35 spline true tracs are fine..

Ive had my Tru Trac in a 9" for 3yrs now....not one problem...before the auto swap id leave at 5k with the nitrous engaging immediately, no super impressive 60fts, just 1.60s. But I was having wheel hop through the 60ft. Guess I got lucky with mine. Ive been kicking around the idea of pulling it out and selling it and going to a spool for lighter weight.

Locker FTW. I have one in my 8.8 going on 9yrs. Lost count on the number of 7k dumps thats on it. Ya on the street its takes a while to get used to but its the best insurance I've ever bought. For me I kinda like the race car feel when I drive around on the street. Solid bushings, dumps, locker, 90/10's, skinnies, and no front sway bar....... drives like a caddy. I love it.

I will say that I thought about switching to a spool because my locker is ~25lbs vs a spool thats what 8-9lbs.

Try to find an instance of a failure with a 35 spline truetrac. I bet you don't find enough to count on one hand.

Ok, well here's your instance of a S60 35-spline TrueTrac taking a dump. I haven't checked the housing yet but last weekend at the shootout in BG I had only one tire spinning during burnouts. I could hear the rear end whining in the car during the burnouts. Then as a result I would be white smoking the tire that didn't get hot during the burnout when I launched.

This rear end has seen maybe 10 passes on 28x10.50 MT ET Drag S slicks never cutting below a 1.48 60. It's an M6 with a 3,615 lb race weight. I'll probably pull the cover this weekend and start looking for garbage. I'll post pics later on what I find.

I've been told to go to a spool and I'm 3/10 away from getting my first 9 sec pass. For you guys that went to a spool, what unit should I look for to use in the S60? I need to get my 60's down to get that 9. TIA, Kyle.

Spools are pretty much all the same. Some have holes and other machining to make them lighter.

Do it once and never have to worry about it again. Spool it. You don't wanna be one of the guys on here with a thread about your rear end making noise and ticking.

I was looking at getting a spool for the S60 I recently received from MWC. They're cheaper and lighter but they (MWC) convinced me not to. MWC told me that if the car was on slicks and skinnies all the time I should go for a spool. But if it's not and I was running 17"s or 18"s (which I currently am) on a street radial they would compare it to pushing a grocery cart around with a solid rear axle.

I don't know but I just couldn't wrap my head around having my car handle like that, and that's why I went with the truetrac. I can't stand pushing around a fucked up grocery cart. I also understand that MWC makes very little off of every rearend they sell so I went with their recommendation as I didn't feel they were trying to sell me something I didn't need.

MWC also stated that they have not had a single truetrac 35 spline failure in an S60 that they shipped out to one of their customers and I believed them. They have sold a **** ton of them. Besides, there is a excessive noise disclaimer on the instructions included with the S60 if you read it so don't be surprised if your S60 makes a little noise, they told you so.

If I had gotten a spool I would probably have been one of the ones complaining about my tires chirping around corners with excessive wear and not being able to get into a 90 degree parking spot. IMHO spools aren't for everyone and if you're gonna buy, buy right the first time. Either way you're gonna get a little NVH, but I'm not going to lose any driveability by going to a Truetrac and still gain crazy strength.

Who knows though, maybe I'll spool it waaaaaay down the road, but for now I'm happy......even though I haven't even installed yet.

My TT 31 splines in the 9" has been holding good so far (Knock on wood). Mind you , the hawk only runs 11's with 26x11.5 ET streets.

I will definetly change it to a spool 35 splines in the very near future since the car is now dedicated to track use only.

You don't need a stick to take one out. Mine has less than 2000 miles and is out. I'm waiting for the 31 spline wavetrac which they say is coming out this fall.

I will go ahead and disagree partially with that. I have had 2, one Produced by the Original Manufacture and One by Eaton which basically did a "Update" and both are doing the same thing which is breaking and being locked like a Spool.

If you buy this diff, stay away from the track or make sure your making under 400 rwhp and its a automatic car and it should be fine, "Should" being the operative word.

I hope they know. I am trying to get my car to run similar times as yours. When I saw the videos of your car coming off the line and shooting towards the parking lot, I decided to go with a spool. lol

Yeah, unfortunately. I was just making sure the guy that posted above about there not being many instances of 35 spline TT's going out can add another one to the count. I'm about to head out in the garage and see what I can find.
