I will have some pics of the damage in a couple of weeks when I get a chance to pull the rear.

I am really disappointed.
Strange S60, 35 splne axles, TrueTrac with 4.10's.
Bolt-on car with Ls7 clutch and Nitto drag radials. Launched at 4 grand, blew the tires off. Got to the end of the run and turned right to pull off the track when I heard -chahchachachcha. Sounds like I have a new 60lb paperweight.

Will be replacing it with a spool, 35 spline axles and either 4.10's or 4.30's haven't decided yet.

Oh by the way rear was 12.5 months old, 6000 miles and maybe 20 passes. I had just replaced the wheel studs ---- which was a really shitty job the way strange has engineered the axle and abs reluctor rings. Maybe I should have gotten a 9".

ya, its a pain with the rings right behind the studs the screw in. But its not some bug deal to remove the rings and some people think, you can use some prybars, and a block to carefully walk them 1/8 at a time, it 8-10 spots around the axle. Its kinda weird the way starnge did it with the alum ring on the axle then the toner ring on that. But try to keep the alum ring on and get the relutor of to fall around the axle and change the studs. If you have stock brakes I think you can fit them thu the senor hole in the backing plate. I changed mine, then took them off when I removed abs. so they have been r/r 3-4 times and there still fine.

guess i'm a lucky one.... lots of low 1.4xs passes.... 6K launches on the bottle with a stick car. haven't had a issue yet... it's in a 9" though.

I have a True Trac in my S60, and it started doing one wheel peels last season. It started doing this after I replaced the 85W140 gear oil with 80W90 (in an attempt to pick up a few hundreths, didn't do squat). I am going to try putting the thick oil back in and see if that helps.

Also, I've read that the TrueTrac needs some resistance on both tires for them to both spin. I use a line lock when doing a burn out, so I wonder if leaving my foot on the brake when starting the burnout would make both tires spin?

Lastly, Strange offers a Trac-Lok differential, which appears to be a standard clutch-type posi. Does anyone have any experience with these? Maybe you can do the old tricks to them like extra clutch plates or stiffer springs? The side gears look pretty beefy, so I would think they would hold up well.

I went from a Tru-trac to a spool to a wave-trac. The Wave-trac is awesome, perfectly quiet and has held up fine.
