Default What should I expect...3.42-4.11 swap?

So with mods in sig and the stock 3.42 gears I ran a best of 12.7. I just swapped rears and now have 4.11s in another 10-bolt.

I typically run around 12.8-13.0 with 2.1-2.2 60's on street tires.

So with the only changes being the 3.42 to 4.11s...

Should I be able to cut better 60's?

If I maintain current 60's will I still improve my overall time?

Will I get worse because I'll spin too much on street tiress?

What have y'all seen going from 3.42 to 4.11s or 4.10s?

I already know I should expect to break the 10 bolt...

you will do worse your gears arnt slowing you down as much as your spinning. Get your 60's down to the 1.8's or better

The gears will make your car feel alot faster....

I have them but my advise to you is to practice driving...

I'm running the same time and traps as you on true street tires just like you and you have a cam? What gives?

Well DA may have a factor...it's firckin' hot and dry here...more likely though you're a better driver. I rarely slip the clutch which is I guess is really the way launch...I usually dupmed it at about 2300 with the old gears.

Well. gears worked out pretty good for me...managed a best of 12.59 @117.68 with a 2.002 60' time, which is probably about all I can hope for on street tires...I'll keep trying though, maybe I'll get lucky one day and eek out a low 1.9 or even a 1.8. Did manage to register a .97g for forward movement on my g-meter though. Thought nearly a g on street tires was pretty cool.

I didn't see what you had run mph-wise before, but I'd guess you'd drop a tenth in ET and pick up 2 MPH.

get a Drag Radial, drop your 60' to a 1.79 or so and you will be in the 12.1 range. Gears help a lot, but more so if you can get better traction.

Well my previous best was 12.74 @ 113.7 or so...but that was on a different tune. So some of the MPH is gears some is tune I'm sure.

Still on the stock 10-bolt so I'm a bit nervous about DRs...I was launchin' about 2500 and managed to keep wheel spin pretty minimal...on one run though, I spun in second and to my surprise third, despite the fact that I wasn't powershifting.

really........i had a 5 speed in my 3rd gen and went from 3.42's to 4.11's and didn't pick up any speed......so ...........to me it doesnt matter if its an auto or manual........the gear swaps didn't make that much of a difference in my situation

I think if anything, the 4.11s definitely made it easier to launch the car and get my 60's down. My previous best at 12.74 was with a 2.1 60' the new time was with a 2.0 60' time so the car probably isn't much faster...just to get a good 60' time and therfore a better e.t.
