IMO an NA LS3 running 9s is no big deal, look at what jugger and magnus did with head/cam 347s. Now getting one in the 8s with a wet sump/hydraulic cam would be pretty cool.
Budget 5.3 truck manifold turbo setup has been played to death.
As far as I know there has only been a few blown LS1 cars in the 8s, its not that easy unless you do a F1R/LSX or something.
NA is my favorite, in the end they all end up costing the same but you can get away with a heavier car with the turbo/blower.

Other thing I was thinking would be cool would be to try to find one of those ZR1 OEM blowers and slap that on. I'm sure they are pricey but they've made over 700rwhp I think.

FWIW the guy that bought my old black SS just ran 6.40s with an 11:1 LS3 based engine with a hydraulic cam the first time out, not sure who ported the heads and thats with a stock LS3 intake as well. Probably around 3200lbs, he will be at the shootout with it running 10.0 index.

I'm going with NA Motor. It seems like more of a challenge to get an All Motor car under 10.0s, especially a smaller CI. U see power adder cars do that more than NA. Either would be cool though.

John, if you really want to go pump gas then Sunoco 94 would be cool
. It seems to be harder and harder to find though but many seem to have good luck with it. My old LT1 car loved it.
I was also going to make a dyno comment but that was made in your hood thread
.
Honestly I don't see the point in pump gas builds anymore... everyone is doing it. A fast N/A pump gas car is still cool though.
The 317 heads that I will have back soon was going to go onto a race gas 408 with a big shot into a notch stang with a bunch of weight pulled. I am sure it would have ran deep 9's N/A on radials.

I've got the whole rearend, lca's, phb, out of the the car now. I still need some fuel lines and to put the backing plates on the axles and I can then put it all back together, and move to the front of the car. On the one hand the car is a gutted drag car so there was less stuff to remove or work around, but the bad part is that I'm missing some basic stuff. But it's good because I forgot how some of that stuff worked and it's fun to figure it out.
