Default What would be more interesting (project car)

I've been rounding up parts for this 2000 Z/28 roller I bought. I have had a few options for the engine/power setup... I'd be curious if some of you guys which combo you'd find most interesting:

Blower and turbo would be faster but more tempermental as you already know.Im a nuts only guy so i say ALL MOTOR!!!! Easier to get the bugs out.It would only need to put down right around 500 to run 9s,unless its heavy.

hardly anyone goes for an all out n/a motor. the LS3 is the new boy on the block and would seem more "new"

I like the All motor option as well, I'd like to see it done in more of a "street car" fashion (Heat, possibly A/C, power accessories) rather then a gutted tin can, would make for a much more interesting challenge.

N/A is no fun. i guess if you looking for something that you dont want to tinker with, that is the way to go.

i say all or nothing.

How about I keep it a tin can and throw in a few dead hookers to see what it would run at 3800 raceweight.

My first thought was the Ls3 then I thought about how cool the 5.3 turbo was that Parrish did with the Ford Fairmont. My vote goes to the Ls3 n/a build because the shock of what Parrish did has already worn off, NOT to take anything away from his project because i talked about it for months and it still is a awesome setup. Ls3, 9 sec, N/A will turn some heads in the LS world!

I chose the blower, just don't see enough LSx motors going 8's on a blower. An N/A motor would be cool too, but it has its expense and headaches too...plus it's only a 9 sec car, whoopty...

I don't think a 9.9x turbo build would be hard, could maybe even hit 9.5's with good gas.

I think 9.9 with LS3 without a power adder would be a challenge.

I think a blower 8.9x would take a while.

Actually I'm thinking 9.9x with an LS2 NA and then adding a blower later.

Try a couple live hookers, then what the car ran won't matter.......

My wife said only dead ones are okay, or that I will end up in some van by a river.

Stock compression 6.2 no reason I couldn't hit it with 10-15 psi or 200-225 shot.

Kurt, you ever had some excess weight over the wheels? I understand if it's just for weight transfer.

I'd say the n/a setup, but put good fuel in it and see what it can really do. 15.5 to 1 compression, really go for it.

Anyone blower and fast with any motor is getting boring these days.. an LS with a big turbo or blower will be fast, they are almost a dime a dozen these days... Not many trying to go fast N/A. Quite a few in the 9's N/A but not enough to make it a dime a dozen thing.

Im not a huge fan on pump gas just because at that level pump gas really hols a combo back in my opinion.
