I voted 5.3. The All Motor 9's would be 2nd, and the blower motor 8's.
You see SO MANY HIGH DOLLAR builds, would be nice to see something like a "lowly" 5.3 gettin it on teh cheap.
My shop car, is underway (has been for a few months now) with that same theory (low budget). Obviously it helps to save money by being able to do teh work myself, BUT, I am using parts that anyone can buy (I did "budget" shopping, and not just go write a check for teh most expensive piece's out there). Eventually, a build thread will be underway, but only once I am closer to being finished. I have documented every detail from the beginning (inlcuding "weight loss").
back OT...yes, teh 5.3 would be killer to see....

Since the 6.2 is newer, that's my plan. Someone suggested that I do a 5.3 and then spray it until it blows up. Maybe you should do that.
I redid my in-tank, I pulled it and installed a Racetronix single setup. Just waiting on my axles which are out to get the bearings swapped, and some fuel lines from a buddy. Then I'll snap pics and do an article.
Gen, I'm doing a budget build, shooting for < $9,000 including the price of the car.

I'm committed to an LS3 top half, I have the intake from FAST.
Slow weekend for working on the car I just swapped the shocks and dropped off the axles and backing plates to have an old friend Nayel @ S&S Chassis swap 'em. My Moser 9" is one of the oldest ones around, and one thing I have to do is machine the backing plates down about 1/8 since the bearings stick out a bit. I don't think the newer 9" housings need this but mine is almost 10 years old.
I'm waiting on one fuel line from buddy and then the tank goes back in. This weekend I'll be at the LSX Shootout taking pics and hanging out.
