Default Body drop? Am I overlooking anything?

I bought a welder this week and aside from the body work that needs to be done. Soon I think I am going to body drop my truck. The main focus for the truck is the strip as I am going to build a 408 stroker this winter also. My question is will a body drop have any negative effect on it's performance on the 1320? I only see positives and they are as fallows.
Body being lower helps keep air out from under the truck. It will be able to lay rocker if I body drop it.
I will remove any and all weight that I can wile I body drop it.
I don't see any negatives to in doing this but if anyone feels to be the devil's advocate be my guest.

Are you still going to have (soft) poly or rubber body mounts? Or is it going to be solid to the frame?

There will be some isolator between body and frame. Probably thin but some sort of cushion, and vibration arrestor.

Well it looks like to me that your on the right track, more areodynamic and maybe a little lighter. All positives if ya ask me.

What about your battery? Planning on relocating it to the rear somewhere?

What times does that truck pull now?

It'll look good. You should probably think about centering any weight inboard of the suspension points (saw the post about the battery relo).

I never understood why someone would move a battery to a wheel well???? there's a reason dragsters go straight.

Weight over the passenger-side rear tire is why.

For what it's worth, dragsters don't have wheel wells. Most drag cars do however.

What does the truck run on motor? I ask because I have a 88 dodge ram and and have a sniper kit on it with 100 jets in now, but have not run it yet with the nitrous, just curious to see before after results with another truck.

Cool, well my truck is a turd, ran a 15.7 @84 but it is lifted 4x4 at 4600lbs. I just got my edelbrock heads in and compared to my stockers, these eddies flow another 100 cfm. stock flows 190cfm, and these eddies flow 290, so that should wake it up, then I have the 100 shot on top of that, hopfully I can dip into the 13's?

Your truck runs good even on motor with a high mileage 6.0. I have a buddy that may be pulling his heads off his 2006 gto 6.0 ls2. Those heads should be the same as yours, but with higher compression, interested? He won't be needing them.

Probably won't have the cash for the heads. Stroking it is already going to push my budget.

I didn't say "don't put it in the rear". Why do people take things personally?

I am probably going with a setup from Texas speed.

I bought a mighty MIG unit from Snap-On. They have a deal you buy the welder for normal price an get the $700 dollar tig torch for free. My dealer also threw in a tank with the deal. I got nearly $1000 worth of stuff for free. I plan to make a thread on my new toy after I get a good pic and some time behind the gun. So if you are interested in more details I will offer them in the next day or so. Bought the welder last Friday and just last night was the first time I was able to put it to use. I have been busy as all hell!
