Yeah Keith (Magnus) got that Firebird down to like 2800 w/ driver, he was like 150 lbs. That was in the no-side mirrors, no dash pad etc. days. We used to store our cars together so I saw that car a lot. I still have the glove box for it over here at my house if you are missing it Sam.

I got Pinkenstein to 3300 raceweight, 200 lb drive, with alum block, stock brakes, stock front end, 9", TH400 and one race seat.

I'm hoping for 3100 w/ driver in this black Z/28.

I am looking for around 3100lbs with my new 99 SS Turbo Shop car. Full Molly Light weight suspension has already been ordered from Burkhart. Plan to pull alot of dead weight out of the car.

I actually bought another glovebox for it, but thanks.

I'm curious what it weighs now that it actually looks complete. I'm sure its under 3000 dry. I'd be thrilled with 2800 dry.

One of the reasons I haven't lightened it anymore is all the weight I can find to remove is over the back, and I don't wanna lose traction or just have to add weight back in.

My WS6 scaled (at the end of a pass) in at 3040 with 200lb. driver, lil less than 5 3/4 gallon race gas, lil less than 10lbs nitrous. I have since added a Moroso vacuum system and a Wilson burst panel spacer, car is bout 2850 with no driver. I love Lite weight!!

Its FOR SALE.

2850 w/o driver is great, and the car still looks nice in the pics.

He has a VFN fiberglass body and an aluminum BBC. I saw the car sitting on the 4 corner scales a few months ago in the pits when he was re-adjusting his 4-link because it was trying to lift the front end a little too much. I would guess he is 160lbs but no more than 180 lbs.

His entire body with lexan windows in it and the hood scoop and all weighed just a few lbs shy of 100 lbs. I am pretty sure Charlie's car is just an 8.50 spec cage for now though which would not include a lot of bars the 25 spec chassis' like yours include.

I sent you a PM.

my old car was 2799 RW with me in it. Still had all the glass as well. I could see 2600-2700 RW with enough time/money.

the new vehicle race weight is about 525 lol

1859 lbs with a BBC is amazing. I've seen some light cars in my 30 years, but I would have to see that for myself.
Even a death trap would weigh more than that. 1st thing I would do is have the scales checked??

Message answered.

Got my old white TA to 2925... Only money I spent on weight reduction at that point was drag lites IIRC.. I was still on stock suspension, never weighed it with the pin on..
With the stock rims back on and full "looking" interior it was right at the 3100 mark.. Couldn't tell anything was missing unless you really looked hard.

I've seen dozens of glass & carbon doors. If you want to spend the money, they're out there.
Glasstek & others are still making them.

Cutting weight after you get to the point where removing is no longer viable, thats when you run into the big $$$. Like said there is companies out there with different materials but you gotta pony up the $$$.

3200 w/o driver is not too hard.

2900 w/o driver is harder and you have to do drag brakes all the way around too.
