Yeah Keith (Magnus) got that Firebird down to like 2800 w/ driver, he was like 150 lbs. That was in the no-side mirrors, no dash pad etc. days. We used to store our cars together so I saw that car a lot. I still have the glove box for it over here at my house if you are missing it Sam.
I got Pinkenstein to 3300 raceweight, 200 lb drive, with alum block, stock brakes, stock front end, 9", TH400 and one race seat.
I'm hoping for 3100 w/ driver in this black Z/28.

I am looking for around 3100lbs with my new 99 SS Turbo Shop car. Full Molly Light weight suspension has already been ordered from Burkhart. Plan to pull alot of dead weight out of the car.

I'm curious what it weighs now that it actually looks complete. I'm sure its under 3000 dry. I'd be thrilled with 2800 dry.
One of the reasons I haven't lightened it anymore is all the weight I can find to remove is over the back, and I don't wanna lose traction or just have to add weight back in.

My WS6 scaled (at the end of a pass) in at 3040 with 200lb. driver, lil less than 5 3/4 gallon race gas, lil less than 10lbs nitrous. I have since added a Moroso vacuum system and a Wilson burst panel spacer, car is bout 2850 with no driver. I love Lite weight!!
Its FOR SALE.

I own Magnus' old car. I have yet to weigh it, but I will if the weather allows. Its still LS1 powered, aluminum block, full interior minus rear seat, roll bar, etc. I've removed a few more lbs since I got it, and have another 50 or so I can pull. Not sure I can hit his 2650 though.

His entire body with lexan windows in it and the hood scoop and all weighed just a few lbs shy of 100 lbs. I am pretty sure Charlie's car is just an 8.50 spec cage for now though which would not include a lot of bars the 25 spec chassis' like yours include.
I sent you a PM.

1859 lbs with a BBC is amazing. I've seen some light cars in my 30 years, but I would have to see that for myself.
Even a death trap would weigh more than that. 1st thing I would do is have the scales checked??

Got my old white TA to 2925... Only money I spent on weight reduction at that point was drag lites IIRC.. I was still on stock suspension, never weighed it with the pin on..
With the stock rims back on and full "looking" interior it was right at the 3100 mark.. Couldn't tell anything was missing unless you really looked hard.

well i guess besides lexan glass iv spent all the $$$ on materials with buying everything in cromoly...cage, k-member, a-arms, panhard bar etc. etc. Cut out TONS of stuff, modded a lot of stuff. Pin-on hood, no interior, heat, a/c.. lol. Cant wait to get my car on a scale!!
