7.51 @ 185 MPH with a 1.21 60 foot time. Not too bad for the first time out to the track. With a few minor tweaks, there shouldn't be any trouble setting a new record (current is 7.20) for that class.

What class/organization is that car getting ready for? NMRA/FFW/PRO/?

Looks to me like it's a S/SO car. (Super Street Outlaw).
I believe the record is currently 7.17 if I'm not mistaken, set by Dan Millen?
Anyways, is that MPH a little low? I thought SSO cars were closer to the 195-200MPH marker????
Good luck on chasing that record!

Super Street Outlaw cars dont go that fast
Super Street Outlaw cars (NMRA) run 7.80's to 8.0's, with the record being a 7.75 i believe. I think the mph is usually in the low 180's. Your thinking of Street Outlaw (Fun Ford) with Millen. But actually Brad Brand holds the record in that class with a 7.14 at over 200.

Turbocharged 388 stroker with 30 psi (2200 hp)
Ford Motorsport aluminum block
8.8:1 compression ratio
Bryant billet crank
BME rods
Brodix heads
Precision 101mm turbo
Custom Wilson intake manifold and elbow
F.A.S.T. engine management
And some other goodies.
Keep in mind that this was the first time that this car was at the track. A converter change is on the list of things to do. We know that mph is "a little low". Don't worry... Dan is going for the record. This car is set up for Super Street Outlaw.

Actually, the record is 7.29 in the NMCA/NSCA on a 31 inch tire, and the MPH is a little low for that which was 193. If you watch the video, you will see it black smoke all the way as it is set up very safe right now which is part of the reason for the low MPH.
As fore the others, Millens pass was at a Clash of the Titans race on 33 inch tires with a 106 mm turbo. Brad's was at FFW again on 33's.
Geese, you guys are tough. The car only has 3 full passes on it, give me some time to sort out the bugs.

Millen's car runs 7.3's at 198mph like nothing on a 31" tire with the little 101mm turbo.
Awesome looking car. You guys have jumped into a tough class if you're going to be racing Outlaw 10.5.
edit: AND it's a full street car!

Unit,
You are right about Dan's car and the 31's and the 101, but it was the 7.17 they were talking about which was on the 33's with the 106.
This is not a class I have just jumped into, I have been racing super street from the beggining in 92, just took a year off to build a new car.
I can drive my car around the block too, and my reverse lights work

Anyway, good luck to you. I'm sure I'll see you at some events and in the pages of MM&FF and 5.0 Magazine.
