Default Wolfe through-floor subframe connectors-Are they needed?

Hey everyone. I am starting to get the chassis built up on my 1998 Z28 Camaro. I have all of the interior out and plan on it being a completely stripped track car. It will have a forged 347 running a 200hp shot of nitrous and a stand alone fuel system, a built TH350 and midwest fabbed 9".

The car is going to be completely gutted and lightweight everything. My goal is to be between 2700 and 2750 lbs without me in it and get it to run a 9.80 or quicker once I get it all dialed in.

I just ordered the cage, an SOS 10 pt chromoly that will cert to an 8.50. My question is, to those of you with the Wolfe through floor subframe connectors, are they really needed and helpfull? They seem awful heavy and before I order them I just want to be sure that I need them.I am building this car to handle quicker ETs than I am running to prepare for the future.

Im installing everything myself including the cage and subframe connectors if I end up buying them.

Thanks!

Do you ever plan on going faster then 8.50? if so, i would go ahead and put a 25.2 or 25.3 floor structure in it, then you dont need the subframe connectors, and you dont have to cut out or severly modify your existing cage to go faster then 8.50. anytime you try to turn an 8.50 cage into a 25.X, it always makes the updates look like an afterthought if the floor structure wasn't done while the car was being built.

Now if you don't see yourself going faster then 8.50, the wolfe subframes are not a bad idea, or even just the round weld in bmr ones. Stick the 10 point in there and be good to go.

I highly doubt I will go faster than an 8.50, and if I do ill do a back half to the car. Im thinking I should be able to run 9.80s on this setup so to drop well over a full second would take alot of money into the drivetrain that im not ready to put into it yet...that and going from a 14.0 to a 13.0 is a ton easier than a 9.50 to an 8.50, lol. I just want the suspension setup to run well and consistant.

Im also considering mini tubing the car while I have it apart.

Ill be posting pics for sure, ill probably just post a link to my build thread.

Josh said its truck frieght and will usually take a couple weeks. Which I dont think is bad at all. Thats why im really trying to decide on teh SFCs. I have to get them in before the cage. Im also a bit worried that the cage wont line up with the SFCs.

I put the Wolf thru the floors in my car - theyre not bad. You can use them up to a 7.50 25.5 cert anything faster than that requires round tube. The wolfes are nice, and my cage is tied into them directly
