Default Drop spindles and drag brakes...what's everyone like?

Right now the PA spindles and strange drag brakes look to be a good setup...supposed to save 53.7 lbs vs stock which seems to be one of the highest I have seen so far...

also can the aerospace be run with the PA spindles...they are a hair cheaper and have a full aluminum hub correct? anyone know the weight difference from strange to aero...

thanks

As far as quality goes, hands down racecraft spindles and strange brakes. best you can buy. run about $1150 for the spindles and brakes.

don't waste your money on the aerospace brakes.

Hey Chris, I meet you last year @ the true street event. We were racing a buddies green Ws6.

Eric @ MWC just made a complete front end setup including drop spindle. I saw it first hand and will most likely have it on my car this year. it's VERY light and well made. Hit him up on here. I'm surehe will beat the price of the other ones mentioned so far.

Yes he did. The first production k-member spindle setup will be going on my car I've been waiting on this since the first of the year, but knowing Eric...it will be worth the wait.

Waiting on my front end kit from Eric as well. I went with the factory steering rack mounts though. Not ready for the manual rack just yet.

I bought the racecraft spindles... very well built. I still have to buy my front drag brakes. I'll be going with the strange setup.

I'm not sure why people don't like the aerospace brake,s I've had very good luck with them, good stopping power, no issues with them bleeding or any of that... and they're plenty light.

I bought a complete setup from Burkhart and had no issues installing it, everything lines up just about perfect, went together easy, etc.

Promod I'm curious why you don't like the aerospace stuff. If it's because of issues from 15 years ago then I understand, alot of people had problems way back then, but the new stuff, I've had absolutely no problems with. I hear people say to stay away from it, but why? Certainly isn't any heavier, and the fit/finish is excellent.

I like ours personally

Very light setup and a bolt in install. We can do stock to 1.5" drop. Aerospacve or strange brakes. The spindle with brakes is less weight than the factory spindle alone. We drop close to 90 pounds or so off the front.

I've actually RUN the aerospace for a couple seasons, so I can honestly say that they work great, and have never had a problem. They're all cnc'd like stated, and have good stopping power IMO.

They stopped my 3350 lb car from 143 pretty easy. I wasn't making the first turnoff, but I don't think I could with the stock brakes and skinny's on the car.

Steve I called your place and spoke with someone about your spindles and they told me each side was 26lbs (brakes and spindles) so that is 52lbs total...

and stock according to pa's site is 97 total for both sides...

http://www.paracing.com/catalog/prod...products_id=37

so how did you come up with 90lb saving... I am all ears for dropping that kind of weight...

can you weigh you spindles... I am going to be buying a set in the next few days...and as of now I am undecided between you, pa, racecraft...

from what I am gathering pa is the lightest around 6.5lbs per spindle...racecraft I thought I read was 10.5 lbs but possibly built better...and yours I don't know...

Chris ,there is nothing wrong with the Aerospace front brakes,PERIOD. Its just a personal preference. The front Areospace brakes alone knock off almost 50 lbs. Front and back on my car were 80 lbs minumim over stock, including parking brake and all cables.

The parking brake and handle, manual master, both front and rear aerospace brake, ditching the abs block and related wiring dropped 108 lbs off my car.

And they worked great.

Not sure what more I can say.
