I'm in the middle of my swap. Going 99 V6 to 99 LS1. We are using the V6 body harness and the LS1 engine harness. So far so good, with the key in the ignition, everything lights up, chimes, and the fuel pump primes.

I dont know about the swap stuff. But sence you have a 98, maybe look into getting a body harness for a 98 LS1 car. Its a bunch of work behind the dash, but if your doing free weightsavings your have it out anyway.
The engine hanress are $$ but the body and front compartment you can get for $30-45 each full good stock harness. There not a lot of guys looking for thouse harness, so there cheap foprm the guys that part out LS1 cars. i'm getting a extra to remove all the unused wires on my car, afetr I found out I can get them so cheap.

I made the front brake line myself, off the stock master with adaptor fitting. Still have stock front brakes, and the power assest.
