275 drag radial. at that weight i think you'd be looking at a stiff wall slick, don't know if you can get one for an 8" wheel

A Bias ply is a wonderful thing, IMO he is TOO heavy to make the 275 work correctly. No mention of suspension, shocks etc etc.

The margin of error narrows signifigantly when you use a bias ply.

But again you wont know until you try. See if you have a buddy that has a set, that be the best bet.

I'm using a 28 x 10.5 x 15 stiff sidewall M/T ET drag and they are great for transbrake racing (they fit fine on a 15 x 8 rim as well), but I do run a set of 275/60/15 M/T radials for my footbrake stuff. If you are setting the car up for strictly TB racing, there are plenty of people that are making the radial work, and the turbo / superchargers can be a little easier with boost control versus a harder-hitting nitrous set-up. But with tuning, you can make the radials work fine. The slicks just offer a wider margin for traction.

Good info guys... I can get my mt et street radials to hook decent on the street with low boost and some pimp juice...

It launches better off a footbrake on the street though... transbrake just blisters the tires...

No front swaybar, spohn ta & ds, bmr lcas & 3point subframe & STB.... no shocks/spings YET, but weight transfer to the rear seems suprisingly good with the stockers

Just wanna make sure I can hook at the track...

I reccomend the stiff sidewall slick or drag radials, and then some adjustable shocks. Bias ply will slow you down, they are heavier and don't roll as fast as a radial/slick.

I have tried et streets and drags and they did not hook well on my car. I tried M&H racemasters and cut 1.42 best 1.44 all day 60's at 16psi on a 26x11.5x15 cheeter slick in a 3,700lbs m6 car. The M&H slick has a stiffer side wall for heavy cars and will hook like mad on your car. They have all sizes and i'm sure if you try them you will not use anything but. you can get them at jegs or www.intercotire.com most People use m/t because they are so popular and work for some,on my car they didn't hook like the m&h tire at all. Good luck to ya.

I think you'll like the stiff mickeys, if you need help on them let me know. I've run them for almost a year on my 3600 lb Nova and been a best of 1.389 off the transbrake while spraying.

If it were my car that would be two to choose from. ET Streets or ET drags. I wouldn't put a radial on because I have only found one person who can prove radials are faster and it was only like .2 and 2 or 3 mph consistently. To me that isn't any faster and you loose so much traction potential with a radial.

15.5 pounds, but I'm at 3600 lbs. Lighter cars could drop a little off that. You want to try and run as much as possible while consistently hooking and showing a clean and even burn pattern.
