Default Trans Cooler - Pics?

Where are you guys mounting your trans cooler?

I bought a Derale from summit with a fan attached, and it looks like I'll have to make some brackets to hold it. Just wondering where you guys found you get the most air

Thanks!

Im pretty sure the reason people are doing that is for the possiblity of it leaking .. if it leaks way back there, it shouldnt get on your tires..

i just don't see it getting much air back there, even with a fan. I was going to try and mount mine infront of the radiator

Mine works great here, having the fans on really pulls a lot of air over it. This is an old pic but I have it bolted so I can remove it easily. I used metal anchors to do it.

I was going to buy the same cooler, but mount it up where the stock fuel tank sits. The fan will do it's job I'm sure to cool things off.

Rosler said not to run a tranny cooler? That seems a little odd to me. I've never heard anyone be told not to run a cooler before, even all out track cars, etc.

I know a guy who runs a glide w/ the feed line ran out in a loop and right back into the trans. He said his tranny builder said its not needed for an all out race car.

I'm going to have to figure out a way and shove it up infront of the radiator for now I think. This winter I'll drop the gas tank for a cell in the trunk, maybe go Jason's route

Sure he didn't say to not run a cheap one? He def. told us to run one and said make sure not to get a cheap one or it will increase the line pressure and not flow correctly.

I cant hardly fathom not running a trans cooler, even in my bracket cars i see trans temps up to 240 degrees with a very large cooler with a fan on it. i cant see any benefit what so ever in not running a cooler.

He didn't even drill the case for fittings (Dedenbear).

Makes no sense. These are all but REQUIRED for most race setups (see: transbrake).

Even the guys I know with rail cars run coolers, and those cars don't get anything near as hot, the load on the tranny is way less (due to low low raceweight)
