SS4000 vs. PT4400 come on in !
the time has come to buy a converter...looking at both these converters for my 2000 camaro, its a full bolt on -ud pully car, stock 3.23 gears...might have a cam in it sometime or another but right now its SI....give me some feedback everyone ! not a daily driver just a weekend warrior. (im also haveing a buddy beef up my transmission...the good sprag, superservo, beastshell, z-pac, ect.ect.ect.) just for piece of mind so i dont have to worry about it breaking.

Dont know about the ss4000 but i run an ss3600 and love it, im not cammed but will be spraying shortly, do a search and read some of the reviews on it, i have 323 gears as well and to me its a nice combo and should get me somewhere in the 11's with full bolt ons and a 150 shot. im still running mine untuned with no problems, driveabilty is great, this is my first stalled auto car and i love it,

im not worried about anything except winning races at the local quartermile bridge, and occasionally going to the track with this car....and i really dont know the differenct between the SS and PT series i just know the ss hits the tires a little harder...but would a PT4400 be to loose for a cammed car because dave at yank told me the pt might be a little loose for a cammed car...i dont really know anything about either except they perform extrodernary lol..

I don't know about the PT4400, but depending on the size of the cam it may really like the extra few hundred RPMs of the 4400.

so what are the difference between the PT4000 and SS4000, is one better for cam or SI or are they almost the same....and if the PT4000 has better shift extension why are so many people running the SS4000....im having a hard time choosing is difficult ! and as far as hooking on the street the local bridge hooks as good as the track i guess because its a kinda textured concrete, i could put skinnies on the back of my car and still hook up lol like i said, i want to win races and thats it

yeah it does still hit the tires hard but the PT4400 has a 2.5 str i think and the SS4000 has a 2.6 str. so it is a little harder but not much....whats ur best time with ur PT4400 ms4 ? also do you think the PT4400 is to big for a SI car ?

i also cant stress enough i just want to win lol ! its not a daily driver, i dont care how high it revs or how loud it is im in it to win it haha. maybe i should get the big daddy 4400 ? but iv read in several searchs that the ss4000 is more for the street crowd or a daily driver...and the PT series is more for the racer in mind....still wanting to hear some opinions

i havent took it to the track yet still finishing up a couple of things but even just driving it on the street it really doesnt feel like a 4400, its very tight down low but when you hit it, it hits hard.

From my experience they are so close to each other it's not funny. Maybe if you had a more radical setup they would differ more? As far as why most people go with the SS over the PT, well they're cheaper for one and everyone thinks that they are so much tighter than the PT so they want the better driving converter.
You have 4.10 gears. That effects everything about the way the stall feels. It will hit harder and drive better with more gear.

For your setup i would say the PT4000 if your keeping your 3.23s it will give you a better shift extension then the ss4000, and if you hook i think you will out run the ss4000.
I think with the 4400 would be best if you at least had heads/cam and more gear some 28s basically a N/A setup.
