Default 28x11.5 or 28x12.5 ET Street?

Right now the car has 325/50 Hoosiers. Being a 6 speed I want a bias ply to be more consistent. My Questions are...

I have a 10in Wheel..and the 325s are almost too big. I cut one up with my quarters Friday night. I have rolled them since but afraid it could still happen.

My Hoosiers are 28x13

The 28x12.5s measure 12.6 (from summit) And the 28x11.5 is only 11.10 and is recommended for a 9.8 or less rim. Would I be better with the 11.5s or 12.5s.

honestly 28x10.5 stiff sidewall is your best bet. easy to fit and plenty of tire for your powerlevel (and much faster)

I would say the 11.5 only because with th 28" tires so many people have somewhat hard time getting to to fit without any rubbing. Your 10" wheel will be just fine and I don't understand why they would have it speced for a 9.8" wheel when no one makes such a thing.

^^ Thats what I was thinking. The 325s fit fine until last Friday. NEVER had an issue but on my last pass I turned the 2 step to like 6200 just to dick around and thats when it eat the **** out of the sidewall. The only reason I want the ET Street so I can still run 1/4 at my local track and I drive it to and from. They say it has to be a DOT tire to run 1/4 kinda BS but whatever. Just looking for something better than a 1.77 60ft..

I replied in your other thread but realize you are running 28" tall tire. I recommend the 28x12.5-15 M&H cheater slick. My 26's only weighed 18lbs a piece. Others guys on here have cut 1.42 60' with the 26" tires and a 6 speed. They are a stiffer walled bias ply tire great for 6 speed guys.

I'm running 28x11.5x15 et streets. They fit fine with the bump stop mounts slightly bent downwards. I havn't driven the car since I put them on, So I'm not sure if there will be anymore wheel well modding needed.

I realize this is an old post, but what did you end up going with ... 12.5's or 11.5's? I currently have a similar dilemma, but I also have a 28x10.5 ET Drag in the mix. The ET Drag is wider than the 11.5 (in tread & section width), but, an 1" thinner in section width than the 12.5 (same tread width). Weights are all very similar (11.5-22#, 10.5-23#, 12.5-24#).

I ended up just running a 295/60/15 et street radial and a 28x10.5 et drag, but next time, I will be going with a 28x12.5 et street bias ply, if not wider when I do a mini tub

Are your ET Drags stiff's or non-stiff's .... how well did they hook with your M6?

At $100 for the pair, I am seriously considering the Drags, but I do want some street time to get use to the bias ply setup and how my setup reacts with them before hitting the track. That is why I am considering some ET Streets instead for now.

In my experience I would run the ET drag all day over an ET street. I had stiff side walls and it never bothered me at 14psi.

With an A4 or an M6?

The ET Drag's I am considering and not stiffs .... that has been my only real hold back. I know ET Street's are not stiffs either, but they are stiffer than non-S Drags. If they were Drag S's, I would have already had them mounted!

I am an A4. The et streets "walked" pretty bad on the big end, I would assume a non stiff et drag will be similar. If the slicks are worse than the et streets there is no way I would try them. If I had no choice but to run slicks I'd put tubes in them and keep the pressure up.

Thanks for sharing. I have been thinking the same about a non-S and believe I have found a pair of ET Drag S's with minimal runs. That is probably the route I will go.
