Talking Picked up my new car hauler today!!!

I ordered an 18' wood deck car hauler for my '00 SS about a month ago and I picked it up today. It's exactly what I wanted and I couldn't be happier! The trailer is an 18' with a 16' deck and a 2' dove tail. It also has 2 3500lb axles with brakes on both axles, diamond plate fenders, and 5' ramps.

Put some thompson's water seal on that wooden deck and fast, if you don't it will warp like crazy. Other then that, it looks like a good deal. I had an 18 foot birmar that was the same thing, but had an open center metal deck. I had alot of good luck with it, and the open deck which alot of people don't like was actually a bonus, because you could use it like a little lift when you were at the track if you wanted to change something.

I had tried using my TBSS with my new Featherlite, and wasn't impressed with the handling. Ended up picking up a new 2010 Sierra.

Working this weekend plus the car is down for a little bit, waiting on a new driveshaft. Got the hood for looks and weight redcution.

I pulled the car last year with an almost identical trailer and it pulled awsome. No handling problems at all and I'm using a Tekonsha P3 controller so the thing stops on a dime.

I'm curious if you don't mind sharing what did it cost ? that's the same trailer I have been looking to buy. I'm in IL also did you pick it up local.

If I had to guess I would say $1950

No problem, Jeff. Correct me if I'm wrong I think I recall your name being Jeff. I'm a fellow Speed Inc guy too and met you at a few track days. The trailer is $1950 standard. That includes electric brakes on one axle, stamped fenders, and 4' ramps. I upgraded to 5' ramps, electric brakes on both axles, diamond plate fenders, and added some d-ring tie downs. The total on my trailer including tax, title, and license was $2400.

Thanks for the info and yes it's Jeff. Wow you have a good memory I can't remember what I had for lunch lol so I apologize for forgetting your name. I have a friend that tells me he can get them from Ky for 1700 brakes on one axle only, wood floors 4 tie downs. I guess I'm going to take him up on it.

That's a pretty good price, I'd definately take him up on it. Make sure you upgrade to longer 5' ramps if you can. I've run into issues on friend's trailers with the nose of my car not clearing with the shorter ramps. Do you know what brand the trailer is?

I don't know the brand of the trailer yet but I'm going to ask him for a few more details including the length of the ramps.

Get the longest ramps possible. We have to **** around way too much to make 4 footers work on my friends "Big Tex" trailer. My 7 footers on the Featherlite require nothing more than attaching them to the back.
