Default No Holden Back - 2005 GTO build

I feel somewhat left out here. With Phil's 25.2 and Eddie's 25.3 builds. Here is my 2005 GTO build in all it's glory. Purchased in Feb 2005 new, with less than 7500 on the clock. It's slated to be the quickest stock bodied late model GTO in North America. Motor is an LSX block 457 CID with a 3 stage 1500HP N2O setup by Nitro Dave on a Beck intake. Chassis by Alston Race Cars.....

Shakedown passes should be sometime before the end of this season.

That thing is awesome!

Not sure the term "stock" should be used but hey that is minor.

And the rear floor, trans tunnel, and a few other small things.

Car is awesome, I know the point you are making of a "stock" body that it is sheet metal as apposed to compleat tube chassis, with a glass body.

I am jelous of such a sweet car! I also love the blue.

It's funny..I bought the car because of the color and matching interior. The only thing left is the body. I sold (or am selling) everything else. It's a labor of love for me, no question.

I would guess no more then 1100 hp or so used at one time!? Probably 3 stages for trac conditions? 400, 500, 600? Just a guess. still crazy if this is the case.

LOL...I'm crazy but not stupid... I'll start off with a small two stage maybe 400 or so then ramp it up. In all honesty, I probably won't go over 600. It all depends on how the data and physical evidence looks after a few runs. Heads are ETP C5R 265's.

The third stage was Nitro Dave's idea. He wanted to see how a spraybar system would work in a sheet metal intake and fabricated a really trick system that bolts in-between the upper and lower plenum.

Engine Build Data:

-457CID LSX (fuel Injected)
-4.2" Bore
-4.125" Stroke
-Callies Compstar Crank
-Ross Pistons -15.5cc
-.040 Cometic head gaskets
-ETP C5R 265 Heads 60cc chambers (flow data below)
-Jesel J2K shaft rockers 1.8:1
-PAC 1228 springs
-Cam 283/304 877/873 117LSA 117 ICL
-Beck Sheet Metal Intake - 105mm TB with 5.5" tapered runners plenum fed from the front as in many LSX applications.
-76lb injectors
-Big Stuff 3 engine management

Head Flow Data
Lift Intake Exhaust
.100 71 47
.200 154 104
.300 225 150
.400 288 201
.500 330 232
.600 359 253
.700 386 266

I've been all over the board posting different tidbits of information but at this point, I'm going to put it all here for those interested. I'm also in the process of putting a website together to document the transformation and provide a PR platform. I'm not a professional racer or a fabricator but a guy with a dream and I fully intend to live it before I get too old. I have no sponsors (not that I wouldn't mind) nor am I independently wealthy so, for those of you who struggle with that mod budget. You can do it!

1500 hp out of 457" is going to be a hell of a tuneup!

Motor is already making 830hp without the spray. Honestly, I am shooting for 1200 at the wheels. That isn't going to be a problem.

4.2 bore? That's not gonna be very happy with the head gaskets, but I like your style, you're going all in on it.

Best of luck, you have a hell of a car there from the pictures, it should really roll good once it's sorted out.

You shouldn't feel left out. Now you are just letting everyone know your going broke!!!!!LOL

Nice car. It is just tough to keep updating everything you do. Phil does a great job with it and that is why everyone follows it and and knows it is fast. It helps you learn more about things.

Be sure to keep us all in the loop. Best of luck.
