awesome thread...

for you vet guys, what do you recommend for a stock bottom procharged car with 550rwhp/520tq? im thinking 3.73's with a 28" tire. i know 3.73's would be best once i forge the engine an up boost but for stock bottom end with 10psi im thinkin 4.11's might be best?

p.s. i won't have mwc 9 at least for another year.

to the op, sorry for the hijack but it seems your going with the 4.56's and im in need of advice also.

a4 4.10 and 28

m6 4.56 and 28

unless you are making huge hp these are a good rule of thumb

good choice on the gears. whats wheels do you have for the car?

street wheels I use my Z28 16s, ran M&H DR 28" (275-16s) I would cut a 1.65 1.63 60' off the street with guess prep. But would dail it in to some low 1.6x got some 1.59xon 3-4 times. This year I have the MT 16" DR, (295 I thiink) little big for a stock 16x8 but thet say then fit 8-10rims. would do alot better on a 16x9or10 rim for sure (kinda weird tire size to make) My clutch is slipping right now but got some high 1.5s 1.57 is the best. If I had some better shocks I know I could do better on DR,

1st time on the MT, was just riding out 3th and coasting

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0toBHj6LFFw

The M&H with cords showing = no recovery. haha
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAsJZ...eature=related
I have noticed on the track the MT recover better, but I really thing the M&H had better tracion on the street.

I have 15x8 Summit Stars. I'm selling my 275/50/15s and buying some 275/60/15s. Not going with a bias ply tire because I drive it on the street 80% of the time and do a lot of drag racing on the street. The MT radial no doubt is going to last longer for me which is really needed on my budget. I sold my z06's so I could get this 9" quicker. So 2 wheels setups is a no go for awhile.

So I've made up my mind on the 4:56 gears and a 28" tall tire. Thanks guys.

I've taken out some weight the past few days. Reinforcements, front sway bar, windshield washer container, and a few other things. Anymore easy suggestions that will take out some easy weight? I'm still on the fence about the a/c. I don't ever use it.

If you do alot of street racing then you want a Bias ply they hook on the street haha trust me. and the last set of slicks i had i put over 7k on them haha i told you i drive my car alot. I drive my car to the track every time i go its 75 miles one way so they do last. but if you do a burn out and hole shot at every light then no they dont. and as for driving in the rain even a Drag rad is scary but i try not to drive in the rain at all.

Tempting...

Guys who have removed the ac. How did you do yours? I mean some people say I need to have a shop or something drain the system?? Something about letting all that stuff spew out is very bad? Is there a write up on here somewhere?

yes the correct EPA thing to do is have a shop drain it...I just used a towel and a screw driver on the fill port near the condensor...think of all the millions of ac systems that leak every year, what's one more right?...it's really easy removing the ac, maybe an hour at most...I think there is like 10-12 bolts and it is out...also I think I saw a right up in the external section...

ya I have 4:30s I ordered my s60 with 3:73s and a truetrac. then bought the 28 stiff ETdrags, and it sucked with thouse gears. LOL I started listening to tim tosto, carteck alex, and some other guys going fast a few years ago and said to get thouse tires. didnt wnat to order a new diff, 430s was all I could fit on TT carrier, then ending up going to a spool anyway I need to buy a new spool and diff to go max. for camonly, haha should have listened to some guys back then.
ya ditch the AC and get a good raimair ducts. I went form 12.9 111 to 12.6@113 with that and a pulley with really mild mods. thats a must got going more then the average 117-122 with a good big cam setup, the free ram air (bottom lid) cutout works OK. this is 2 everytime MPH at these speed.
