Go to PepBoys. They have very lightweight carpet in 3' x 6' sections or 6' x 9' sections. 1 can of spray adhesive and you have an instant headliner, or carpet for that matter.

I like studderin's advise...

for us auto boys make an ory that bends enough so you don't have to pull the exhaust when you drop the trans...

also a body mount tq arm is great here too, so that
doesn't have to be pulled either...

I also leave the top bolt out of the bellhousing cause it can be a bitch from time to time...

performance...hmm if you are thinking catback put a cutout on too for those extra few hp's...I am still running the factory catback on my car...

max effort ram airs are somehing like I got in my sig or the sux2bu ram air, all others are leaving a few hp on the table...

half shaft any Tb you have, bump stop mod, descreen maf if you have one...

port matched my 92 fast to my heads and made sure the transition was correct by using thicker gaskets .200"...don't add material to a bad transition that will not help, make the angle correct without blocking the port with material...

look down your header collector once and see if you like all the over weld and extra slag in the way...it should be a smooth transition, just like on the intake side...my headers also were 20 thous or so smaller over the cross section when mated up to my 215s so I massaged the inlet d ports bigger to allow for a better transition and less of a knife edge...

just because you get the best part on the market doesn't mean it can't be tweaked to be a hair better...fast, qtp, etc...

just the little stuff...

I agree on the info about the Fast. It sure seems like a expensive piece of plastic but it does work. It can easily be improved but it still feels like a pos, the port alignment on mine to the factory runners of my 243 heads was off quite a bit in some of the cylinders. Not that my car is even close to as fast as some of the guys on here but I feel I've done very well for what I've got. It's always rewarding to do a little tweaking yourself and do that extra step. One can learn alot reading from Studderin's post over the years, he tweaks / modifies everything he can think of haha; factory adjustable master, stealth fast 85, modded power steering pulley, trick custom factory 2 piece timing cover all sorts of good info. Keep it up guys

Edit: Chrs1313 also has tons of great info with results to back it up. I know there are alot of other fast / knowledgable guys on here but hang around these guys long enough and they will set you straight.

I did for a while. I don't now because I have a work truck and they like me to have it with me most of the time in case I get sent out of town or have to haul equipment somewhere... Otherwise I would.

Oh... as for this threads purpose, I'd say my unique thing was my nitrous kit (solenoid placement, wire tucking, and switch panel) I have yet to see one done like it.

That, or just dumping a retarded amount of money into a stock internal car

Seems like the problem would be more due to people jackin up the wires that read the air coming in while taking off the screen but nonetheless, ill pass and leave it on there...I have NEVER seen any reported gains making it worth taking off. I dont think it would win a race over someone with a screen is what Im saying...
Maybe if I was a pro tuner for these engines I would mess with it...
Just my .02 to add to this thread, I think many of the other ideas are great and helpful for sure.

Remove the radio and glue the face or it back on. Looks stock but loses #'s

As far as shedding weight, I think some of the build threads on here just about cover every ounce you can take out.
Did the car pick-up with the gear change? I have a 3.90 w/ a T350 going through the traps at 6100???? 275/60/15 Drag Radial. 10.97 @ 122

he has a 6 speed car and is trapping at 112 mph. he would be at about 6650 rpm if he went 122 mph. plus he doesnt have to worry about torque converter slip. your car wouldnt make it with a 4.56 gear unless you want to spin it over 7k.

one thing i like to do on my f-bodies is cut the core support and make the radiator section of it removable. makes pulling the motor from the top a lot easier.
