Youve got a good year+ before your out tuning suspension. Take your time and do it right.

I assume their are options to leave the turn signals, headlights, brakelights, etc.. working? Any idea how much they cost? I would rather spend time working on it than spend another $500-600.

Thanks for the advice. I wish I had 1/4 of the car building skills you have.

Yea this is my first and sometimes I feel super overwhelmed by it. Just have to break it into small to do items and conquer those 1 by 1.

this is the best way to do it IMO so long as you can keep a broad scope of how it all fits/works together when its done, but having small projects and finishing them up helps it keep from being so overwhelming.

you have to do that or you'll get super-frustrated very quickly....always feels good to stamp a "DONE" on a subproject. I also find to work on 3-4 "larger" subprojects together so I can get a change of pace from time to time...I guess I like drag racing due to my short attention span

I know some of the higher end stuff will let you pick and choose whatever you want at least thats the way it used to be. Madman was on here the other day talking about a harness that he liked, you might PM and ask him.

It has been a while since I have seen prices but count on a few hundred bucks at least and remember that wiring gets old (age), I personally perfer to work with new wiring that way I don't have anything to worry about.... that and I hate sitting there cutting wires and firguring out what goes were.

Haven't had a chance to work on the car lately but with the weather warming up and the time about to change again I should be able to work on it more. Just ordered my Kirkey seat and bracket so I'll be putting those in this weekend. Also need to pull the gas tank and then the car will be ready for a cage.

if you want a *competitive* 275 car, might as well do a 25.3 or 25.5 cage.

The class I'm planning on running is a baby 275 class, lol. Most cars are in the 5.60-5.70 range. I would love to do a 25.3 cage but this build is already going to take forever and that would push it back further.

on builds like this, you need to budget for "forever" then add at least another year

Haha so true. I know it will never be "done", I just want it to be drivable again.

Thanks if you are being serious. The front bumper needs to be painted and there are some chips here and there, but its not bad for 16 year old paint.

I'm hoping to strip out the wiring, install the seat, and pull the gas tank this weekend. I'll post some pics then.
