Default Upgrade from 8 to 10 point cage.

I need to upgrade my CM 8 point to a 10 point. I have a couple pictures of the side bars. My question is how can I do it so I can get it cert. without cutting my door bars out and redoing them? Can I connect on top of them with the pillar bars? Can I weld them to the plate that is already there in front of where my door bars go? Do I have to make another plate? Looking for some advice before I get going on this.

The right way to do it is to just re-do the door bars, its only those 2 bars shouldnt be that bad

I really wanted to leave the bars in there alone if at all possible. Is there any other way to do it and still get it cert. If not I guess I have no choice?

you need to cut out the door bars the main hoop and back is fine ... DO it right from the start so it will pass cert

So If I cut them out and start over do I have to run the bottom ones again or do I leave them out?

the bottom ones (rocker bars) are not required for 8.50 cert if the floorboards aren't modified

If you are doing the work, spend the $10 or whatever they charge and order a NHRA 2010 or 2011 rule book. It will have exactly what is required to get your cage certified. It will save you plenty of headaches later on. I learned alot about what is actually needed for an 8.50 cert vs what alot people think is needed.
