I still need to weigh it, all I can do is the redneck way(stand on a scale holding it and compare to not holding it). Its not going to save an enormous amount but I want my battery box mounted on top of it and not down in a hole, plus it makes getting to the rear end a little easier and i tearing everything out for the tubs anyway.

We tried the redneck scale idea a few weeks ago. It was a digital scale and it was honestly 2-3 lbs, but it didn't change with either of us trying it. We were arguing about the weight, and knew that it wouldn't register by itself so that was our only option and it failed miserably.

Car is looking good man, good luck with it!

Havent updated in a little while and havent had a ton of time to work on it but here are some pics of the progress...

Here is the right side tub in place, welding is pretty much done but I need to clean the welds up and paint them after i trim the excess off of the back.

Here are a few pics of it cut out, cant remember if I posted these or not

And some pics of the left side cutout. Still have alot of trimming to do on teh frame then once I get it all trimmed ill trim the gas filler metal around the tub before I weld it in.

The pile of metal that used to be the left tub and trunk well

Well on my way home from work Friday I picked up some sheet metal. It should be enough to close off the cowl and fab around the left tub and close off the holes from removing the trunk pans.

Yesterday I made a template from cardboard and cut out my panel. Heres a pic of it all finished off. I only did the center for the time being, this way I can get the motor/trans in and out of my garage and i can put time into the ends to make the clean since that will be alot more noticable than the center.

Then I kept going on trimming for the left side tub and welded it in place.

Sorry for the crappy pics, all I have is my Iphone camera and it was getting dark

Like the wolfes? I was told the stock springs would work fine with the upper mounts cut off as long as not too much was cut? Anybody shed some light on this? I have afcos and would just convert to coil overs before getting adjustable mounts and smaller springs.

Im not real worried about staying stock suspension but I would like to keep my options open. So stock springs wont work with the mount trimmed like that?

Yea im not too worried about the installation, it cant be any more involved than mini tubing lol. I just really dont want to spend the money on them and then new springs if I dont really need to, on the other hand if it is better and/or I cant run stockers ill order them this week with the anti roll bar and have the rear suspension done.

Hey Fuel what rim/tire combo are you going with and bs?

Also does the new upper spring perch have screws or something that prevents it from moving?
