Well I finally have another update, had a couple weeks off since my daughter was born and got some work done on the cars. Ill have to upload a couple more pics tomorrow.
I installed the MWC anti-roll bar and welded tabs to the rear axle.

Then I began installing my racecraft dzus rails(made for Camaros) and adapting them to work for the firebird hood. Heres a quick pic but ill go into the mods I had to do tomorrow. It really is easy to get them to work.

Thanks! Yea as much as I can. My next thing is to build a bumper support for a small fuel cell with a mount for the fuel pump. Ill also have some mounts that will come up with dzus mounts for the front of the hood. Once I get all of it in there ill weld some cross supports between the frame rails and cut out as much as I can and replace some of it with lightweight tubing.

Didnt get much done today except clean the garage. I did pull the headlights off, ill make soem brackets eventually to solid mount them. One of the next things I want to do is hack off the radiator support.

Trying to figure out exactly how im going to do it. Im going to be using a Burkhart bumper support so I need frame horns. I was thinking about chopping the frame off a little bit in front of where the K member bolts up, then welding a plate up to the end and running a straight chromoly tube out to where the frame horn is. I will need to make a crossbar or something for my radiator but its a really small radiator and wont be heavy. Anyone have any suggestions? JL WS6 I know you have hacked quite a bit off of your car but I dont think ive ever seen pics.

Iirc you were going to a BBC right? I don't blame you at all, big cube lsx cost way too much to build and you can do damn near anything with a BBC and the abundance of parts out there for it

I dont have any pics of it unfortunately. It wasnt anything special, I just cut off one of the dzus mounts(they have 5 but the firebird is shorter because of the headlights) and riveted one end into place and bent it as I went down. I shaved off a little right by teh headlight where it gets closer to the fender. Then on the other mount I just bent it a little at a time until it matched the other peice. Each dzus mount needs to be bent up a hair to meet the contour of the hood. No special tools or crazy fab work.

Well if only I could tig weld I'd run bars off my cage and make a tubular shock tower like 9sec93 did, but since it's connected to the cage I'm not sure it would pass tech if I mig it.

This is my plan for the front end and it should work for you.... Cut the frame horns off, weld on a flat plate with 3 nuts welded to the back / inside of it. When you make your new front end have a plate welded to the end of it with three corresponding holes in it. Use 3 bolts with washers to tighten the front end down to the frame. You can use a sort of thread sealer as well to keep it tight if you're worried about it backing out.

Yea and im trying to keep it as light as possible. Id really like to start chopping but want to be sure of what im doing. Id also really like to buy a TIG welder and tubing bender so I can really make the most of it and use chromoly tubing to build the front end.
