Strange Rear Drag Brake Users!!
A couple of weeks ago I installed a set of Strange rear drag brakes on my 2001 Camaro. The car has a Moser 12 Bolt and I used the spacers I bought from SJM to get the proper caliper alignment. My question is does the caliper need to mount on the frontside or the backside of the rotor. Right now my caliper is on the backside of the rotor and in some posts I've seen them on the front side of the rotor. I double checked yesturday and everything is going in the right direction/rotation including the caliper arrow and the rotor arrow. Also, I can take the pads out easily and it seems to be shimmed correctly. However, I made a couple of passes this last weekend and the brakes smelled, so this made me question their position. Does anyone elses smell after one 124MPH pass? The passes each had an hour in between and it stopped perfectly each time but I was thrown off by the smell when I returned to my truck. I tow the car by the way and it weighs 3300 pounds total. Do they have a weight limit?

Thanks! I was just making sure the smell was normal considering I've never owned these style of brakes. As for the direction I think if I get bored I'll put them in the front but for now it's not hurting anything.

The "instructions" that Strange supplies say to mount the calipers on the backside.

Thanks Firehawk441! I thought I read the instructions right but I threw them away shortly after putting them on the car. However, I came onto the forum and I was hit with a bunch of pics of them on the front. This made me question the instructions and I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask some people. I believe I saved at least 25 pounds including the Ebrake handle, cables, calipers, rotors, etc. Not to mention they stop my 3300 pound car very well and now I don't need to worry about my stock grinded caliper cracking or breaking.
