I have no cage either and run close to mid 10's n/a. I will make a 9 sec pass this year still with no cage and i will never get one in my street car.

plan is to make it run 10s with the ss4000 and 3.73's on my 275/50/15...if i did the calculations correct at 6300 it will be able to trap 120 with the converter slippage calculated in at 5%....which i think with an awesome 60 will get me 10s...but i think another 200lbs needs to come out atleast

And if you were to ever show up to any of my local tracks I'd have you booted out as soon as you made a pass and have the car put on the permanent list until it returns with required safety equipment.

That entire attitude is just retarded. Put the god damn safety equipment in the car or don't race. Period end of discussion... it's guys with attitude's like yours that are the cuase of people getting hurt and killed at race tracks!

Put me on that list too then, cause I would NEVER put a bar or cage in a street car. NHRA needs to get on the right page with the rules. Applying rules across the board is silly. Telling me that a stock 2011 Z06 Vette with huge disc brakes, crumple zones, airbags, etc, needs the same safety crap as a 1976 Pinto with drum brakes, no safety devices except a lap belt is laughable. I'd rather risk the 10-11 seconds going down the track with a helmet and no cage than 10k miles of street driving with a cage and no helmet.

Could not agree more. No one needs to lose their life or their investment due to someone else **** poor attitude to safety.

These things are not indestructable.

These are just some examples why you have safety gear, be it on the street or otherwise.

You can run a radial rear with a bias ply, no problems. I don't know where/who started the rumor that you can't do that.... every drag radial car in the country does it, and they're all fine.

What brace are you talking about? The panhard brace? Take a picture of what you're talking about and put it up. If it's the PHB brace, then take it out... if you're driving aorund on skinnies you aren't doing any hard turn maneuver's that will cause a problem. Guys run around with that thing off all the time.

On the other hand I wouldn't want to hit a curb sliding sideways with it off... chances are something's gonna be a mess if you do.

I was gona take mine out but I just have 2 rear roll bar bars, I put right over the coils and shock metal (were there 3-4 layers of metal). It gose between that thick metal for the shocks/coils, so I'm gona leave it for now, If I get some X bars or longer bars back to frame rails in the back with a chute bar I will remove it. But then agian with the TRZ ARB kit, I have a 1 3/4, 4130 bar going across the rear now. I remember ProjectSS and his bro (forgot his screen name they used for a while) removed it said it was only like 4 pound I believe if you want to look into it more.

And what dose that pic of the LT1 car have anything to do with having a rollbar at the drag strip? Your not going to hit a tree or a pole at the track? Did that car have the stock door bar?

Ever see a car cut a tire and go sideways and barrel roll? That can happen with a 13 second car, 10 second cars and faster, **** happens alot faster then people realize... that picture is nothing compared to what will happen to a car that does about 10 barrel rolls after getting pitched sideways for blowing a tire at 100+ mph, which is about 1/8th mile speeds for 10 second cars and faster fwiw.... a tire lets go at the top end, loops the car into the wall or another car... and you have some serious carnage.

Cage your race cars gentlemen.. once it's into the 10 second range, a/c in it or not it's a race car, wether you want to admit it or not.

Let the car barrel roll, and slid for hundreds of feet. I'll take doing that at the dragstrip any day. Over a hit on the driver door like that. Your not going hit anything and STOP instantly, let alone hit a tree, or some solid column like that at a drag strip.

if you can go 10s with a 4000stall,3.73s and 26" tires major props to you.
if you really want 10s why not try ypt4400,4.11s,28" drag radials.

my car is setup with 3.73s and 26" tires but thats cause i drive my car alot on the street and highway,4.11s in a auto on the highway would be hideous for me,and no im not gonna run 28"tall tires on the street i like my car to look stockish
