Oh and Chris... I don't believe a single person in that thread saying one of those tranny's will stay together.

They can say they last all they want, but in the end this is how it works out. Tranny guy, when the thing dies, blames the motor guy for the problem, motor guys always blame the tranny guy when there's a motor problem, and everyone blames the converter guy and the tuner when anything isn't running right.

No way in HELL is one of those transmissions lasting 100 passes. The design of a 4ljunkie is flawed right at the planatary set, it physcially can't deal with high input rpm and alot of power... they're going to fail once you are into the 700+ rwhp level, on a regular basis.

Noone has one last at that level. Even in a total potato chip car, if it's running bottom 9 second range, no way it's staying in the car for more then 20 to 30 runs, TOPS.

I don't call a 20 to 30 run transmission staying together. If it won't take 100 full runs, it's failing way too soon/is inadequate.

just to get this thread back on topic, what are you 6 speed guys running for shocks and settings.

ive got QA1R's up front and comp eng 3-way adjustables in the rear. depending on the track i set the fronts between 3/2 (L/R) to 5/4 (L/R) and the rears are at the 50/50. the fronts seem to do ok but the rears are awful and allow way to much axle movement so i want to see what others are running before i upgrade

heres a video of what im talking about. two step at 5200 (approx 1-2 psi on launch), front shocks at 5/4, rears at 50/50, 13 psi in the rears, -1 pinion angle. 1.52 60'. you can see the rear slam down on the launch then recover. i need to figure out how to control this cause if i hit it more rpm/boost the tires wont recover and itll blow them off
(disregard the music, buddy had pandora running while he was videoing)

I am running Strange But your car is hitting them tires hard... If i was you I would have afco's on that bad boy. You really need to slow down how hard its hitting the tire. The afco's coast alot but from everything i have seen you could get your 60 way down. you have the power and drive line to do it..

I have a qtp, fits great... saved my *** too, when my clutch let go, it caught the starter ripped it off the block, but the bellhousing kept it in place, it wasnt until disassembly that all the little pieces of the block, starter , etc came loose. It is a neccesity IMO.

also never had temps over 190 in stop in go ever with my 4000 and 90 degree summer days...

and cruising on the highway is no biggie with a lockup clutch...I can have a 3000 stall or 6000 stall as long as it is a lockup clutch it will be the same rpm...talking about driveability I heard that slipper is a no-no on the street...

I had to give you guys ****... why not get a manual valve body auto so you can still have your shifting...look at the liberty, basically an auto with a clutch for the launch...

ok I am done teasing back on topic, m6 launching....

No slipper clutch, simple ram HD $470, street/strip

What settings are you running on your Strange shocks? Are running S/As or D/As?

Yeah way more ppl are running with a stock bellhousing. Are they the smartest ppl no. You be removing that trans and possible motor and destroy the car if the clutch lets go in a stock bell, I have a quick time bellhousing and fits great. Its worth it.

I know someone that painted there stock bell housing black if tech ever looked under the car. But now with a dual disc clutch I see alot more stuff to come apart....
I figure the quicktime weights more then stock. anyone know about how much??
I worked on some older cars with poor fitting bellhouseing..2 starter spots, chevy, and BOP patterns. I hate that stuff, I want aftermarket parts to be better then stock.
