with less than 400whp and the 28s you need to be leaving alot harder or idealy going to a 26" tire with the 4.11. i make 585whp n/a and still have to leave at 6k+ to avoid bogging with 28s and 3.90 gears. but my car is geared for nitrous so it dont see many n/a passes

i'd stick with the 28's and run less air... just make sure you run tubes and several rim screws.
26's may work but 28's have a bit more sidewall to help with the clutch hit.
