I use the 8ply sportsman tires and I love them. I learned the hard way like you did by getting a bulge in a cheap front runner... never again

all you guys running the cheap *** radials will learn eventually. I was one of the guys who said "it will never happen to me" I had them on the car for a few years before I even had issues.

But just like the OP the steel belting blew out and created a buldge - just lucky that i caught it before it caused damage. They are not meant to carry the load of our cars or speed

I run the SR Sportsman radials too. I had the same Arizonian front tires for awhile, I never had a problem but I like the SR Sportsmans for peace of mind.

Run 8ply sportmans with my 15's now, but when I was rolling around on the 17x4's I had Hoosier's on them. I, too, had a bubble come up in the side wall. Put a set of motorcycle tubes in them and never had another issue until they wore out the tread.

Default Front runners rubbing bumper

Hope this thread is acceptable for this question.

Got a set of draglites off of Craigslist, and the front tires that came with them rub against my bumper and wheelhouse. Guy I bought from had on a 94 with no motor, so it was impossible for me to see how they fit on his car fully weighted down. (He swears there was no rub) Anyway, mine is a 95 w/ OEM suspension, (pics below) obviously the tire is too tall, and I want to pull the trigger on the MT sportsman 8 plys ( 26x7.5-15) but the tires that rub are (205/70-15) which is also supposed to be a 26" tall tire. (According to http://www.jekylhyderacing.com/HeightofTires.htm)
Just hoping that with being the same height, I am not going to have the same prob with the MTs rubbing. The fronts i have are the "Jegs" style draglites that use the OEM acorns, and I know they sport a little more offset to accommodate the brake caliper, but kinda hoping that it is both a height and width problem with the current tires. Anyone else ever have this issue?

I will never understand why wheels/tires is where people decide it's a good idea to cheap out. "Oh yaaaa know, they're just what keeps you and the guy next to you safe, I think I'll put some 20 dollar VW fronts on, sure they are rated for a 2,200lb vehicle at a max speed of 70mph, but that shouldn't matter, right?"

Run something that's designed for what you're doing. MT/Hoosier/M&H/Goodyear all make several bias ply and radial designs for skinny front runners in sizes from 15" wheels to 18" wheels.

MT SR radials, drive good, but are much heavier compared to the bias plies.
