PCM will be fine, unless you want to spin into 8,xxx rpms NYS stuff will be fine.

Good valve springs, and valve train setup... adjustable rockers.

How high you gonna spin it? Stock pcm good to 8k-ish max.
You lookin to bump that rpm range or just for valve train stability?
Depending on what you're lookin' to do-u may have to look into cam, lifters, pushrods, intake/tb swap etc.
Stret driving will be fine, may need to adjust rockers every now and again. Emissions, I don't know how a solid roller set up affects emmisions.

you can spin hydraulics to 7800.... no prob.

If it's just the rpm range thats making you want to convert. Either way you need great springs... light valves, etc.

Yeah you "could" but........If I was gonna spin that high I'd want a more stable valvetrain.
How much rpm is the stock oiling system good to?
I don't see why your AFR heads wouldn't work well with the new set up.

True just stating it's very doable. We had mine at 7700 on the dyno and at the track, but were extremely careful with lifter preload, 3/8" manton pushrods, some really nice valve springs, lightened valves and so on.

Good luck with what ever route you go dave.

We've gone 9.61 N/A and 9.19 on a 100hp plate on Barrys Nitrous car. He still has a FAST 90 on his 403. The Direct Port hasn't even been used yet. Then it will get hit with both.

How fast are you expecting to go with your current engine?

Here's a picture of Barrys engine with a FAST 90. Just a Nitrous Outlet D/P and Plate.

Usually with the higher rpms the car may like a shorter runner than the FAST has- but 7800 isn't "that" high.
I don't think there is anything wrong with designing a solid roller set up around the intake you have.
Now if you were thinking carb style intake, which IMO I think would be the best choice, you could go with the Mast Motorsports intake and top mount TB. I don't think u will fnd someone who disagrees that would make the most power with the upgrades you are considering.
