Default Need help with a suspension issue

This 12-bolt has done nothing but **** me off. I can't figure out what the hell is going on here. The 12-bolt was originally in 2001 camaro and I put it in my 1994 with a UMI chassis mount TQ arm (angle set at -2*). The adjustable control arms are set to factory length and the wheels are centered in the well. I also run sportlines, with summit 3 ways (the CE knock offs), which worked fine with the 10-bolt. Since the wheels are centered in the wheel well, there is no need to adjust the control arms. I do have a set of LCA brackets that have yet to be put on the car, but I doubt that would be the issue... could be wrong though.

I can not figure out why the hell my shocks have such an angle to them. This has to stress the bolt. Any ideas?

The mounting on the factory 10 bolt is different than say a moser 12 bolt. I have had to shorten lower control arms, adjust the torque arm to get the correct pinion angle. What 12 bolt is that ?

Get that red bushing out from behind the shock, and if you have to grind the mount to get them to clear (on the rear), do it. That's certainly, making any possible issue with the rear being different a bunch worse. I've never seen anyone do what you are doing there with that bushing. If the shock hits the bracket, clearance the bracket or remake it if needed.

Those shock mounts should be level with the pinion. It looks to me like you have the pinion on the rear adjusted way down. Have you driven the car yet? If yes any vibration?

Do they turn more level when loaded on the ground?

The pinion is at -2 and there is no vibration. The suspension IS loaded. It corrects its self if I let the rear end hang down.

Sounds like it's where it needs to be then. I would recommend picking up some of Madman's shock brackets to fix the shock orientation. http://www.madmanandcoracing.com/sho...aspx?itemid=11

Get that rubber bushing out from behind the shock. And if the shock hits the mount, grind the mount back some. The shock brackets that they put on the rear, is supposed to be a duplicate of the factory one, but A: they are in the wrong spot, usually causing clearnce issues with aftermarket swaybars, and B: due to where they put the shock they're almost always in a bind.. there's alot of ways to make the bracket alot nicer, and put the shocks in a position that won't cause them to be in a bind.

Madman's brackets help alot, but moving the entire shock closer to the rear, with a new bracket will make a big difference. That's one thing that the guys making fab housings get alot better then the typical cookie cutter moser rear, the brackets always line up alot better.

This is the exact reason we make our shock relocation brackets.

Thanks guys. I have been busy this week. I have a few things I want to try and see how it goes. Other than that, it looks like I may need some of the shock relocation brackets.
