Sorry to hear that an I hope your wife is okay. If you come to the Orlando area skip Speedworld and go to the 1/8 mile track (CFRC) because the track prep is better. Spinworld is not a good place to do an initial test.

once again hes talking about nt05 and it is a completly different kind of tire, I think they will do pretty good at the track. I think its ganna be M/Ts for my new setup though now that im ganna have the built 9 and 418 ls3, i can afford to do some hard launches that hook.

Hoosier hands down for racing. I've heard the M&H is nice also, but not as sticky as the hoosier. M/t is the old standby but I think Hoosiers have them beat hands down.
I have nitto nt555r's on my street wheels, and FWIW on my turbo car I can cut 1.59 60's with them and have before. I've ran 6.76@108 on my nitto dr's, but it wasn't consistent. I had to continuously play with the launch rpm, boost psi, and tire pressure.
With my hoosiers its drive into the pits, air them down, check to make sure two step is at 4200rpm and go to the line. They hook everytime.

M&H or Hoosiers is the way to go! I've never used Hoosiers but a few friends have and they dead hook on the street. I run Nitto's on my stock wheels and until last week I ran the MT's on my drag wheels. I just switched to the M&H 275/60/15 DR and those bad boys with no prep dead hook on the asphalt! I think the MT's are over rated and don't hook or recover very well on the street. I've had good luck at the track with the MT's as long as it's prepped good. But I do more racing on the street and they just weren't hooking from a dig.

I think when my nitto's wear out on my street wheels I am going to switch to the M&H DR's. I don't think I will ever not run a Hoosier at the track after being so impressed by their ability to hook on a shitty track as described above.

I've always had good luck with the nitto 555r, they are reliable, hardly ever spin on concrete unless I'm trying an aggressive dig with no burnout. This is with 700 plus rwhp, I went to the track with them and didn't have any issue hooking up with little to no burn out. Was having lag issue though. I plan to try them with the transbrake and get a 9 second pass with them.
