the motec is going to allow him to do a lot more tuning wise and is going to make a world of difference in getting it down the track correctly. something too many people overlook. Darin is a very well known tuner in a lot of different markets but mainly in the Supra world. He prefers a MoTec over most and runs one in all his cars.

I dont know where theyre having the event but I would imagine its some kinda big Supra meet. Very nice blistering fast Supra you got! I am subscribed to this thread, starting to get a good foundation built under the camaro. Curious to see how deep it goes & what you guys go through to get there.

This car will need a adjustable TQ arm from madman forsure. Afco shocks to slow and plant the hit of the drivetran. the umi tq arm is weak. I sent mine through the floor of my car with a 10.8x cam only car that was 3300lbs. you seemto know your way around a clutch so your good there. also liberty tans makes all the parts iwould look into getting.

Got the racepak dash installed, it was pretty easy to setup. For the fuel level I just ran the factory fuel level pcm input to a custom channel on the Motec ecu and set it up as a user channel with a 0-100% range so the Racepak can read it and display properly.
These pics were before I got the dash completely setup, obviously I don't need the tach to read to 9k haha.
Also got my mickey thompson front's in last week so I was able to put the front wheels on.
Crank came in last week as well.
Since it actually stopped raining today for a few hours I was able to finally drive the car a little today after all the new mods. The car drives awesome now and feels much more solid with the new rear end, shocks and control arms. Also, the g-force trans shifts really smooth and easy into every gear. The engine is stock internally right now with just longtubes, y pipe and eliminated maf sensor. So it's pretty damn slow right now, but still kind of fun to run around town with. I may put a single fogger 100 shot or something on it for now and see what it runs at the track..

We both had similar situations I suppose, except mine was a bmr trak pak, and it broke into about 5 pieces, on a 400 rwhp car at the time.... Upon further inspection, the front weld had almost no penetration, and the rear plate snapped a couple times too. There is alot of shock to the torque arm on these stick cars, and if anything isnt up to snuff, it will find the weak link. All in all I have bent or broken 3 torque arms, they all looked similar to that one. As Im a welder, I made my own chrome moly one, no problems thus far, but I made everything bigger/thinner wall and used much larger adjusters that I machined on a lathe. For one you buy off the "shelf" Madmans is an awesome torque arm, and comes with his free service of helping you dial the car in. If you have a problem hooking, call him and he'll go over it with you... Honestly, worth its weight in gold...

We will figure it out as we go.. You have to understand we come from the world of Supras which i guess are a bit more superior then? Because it doesn't take much to get them in the 9's and 8's and hell, they've even 7's on a stock transmission and rearend. There are a few key parts that most don't use in the Street Camaro world that we are trying out and will help in setting it up correctly from a tuning standpoint as well as other features. We will have to see how it goes! Hoping for the best but either way excited to be trying a new and less familiar build and seeing what we can do with it.
nice work though guys. stock sway bar, cheap 3 way adjustable shocks and non adjustable control control arms, and a cheap *** torque arm. looks like you guys went shopping at summit. as usual, supra guys know how to run 12's in a 1000whp car...
have fun.
