well I cant see how you can remove your entire system without pulling the dash (which is not hard at all to do). Im sure you can come up with something if you didnt want to go through the passenger compartment, give Burkhart a call they have a decent plate.

All the weight savings comes from removing all the A/C stuff from under the dash so if you didn't do that there will be no real reason to do it. Take a couple hours and remove the dash and take at all the A/C stuff, it is honestly not all that hard. If you are interested in a A/C block-off plate we make a nice aluminum plate. Here is a link to the BMR A/C delete panel.

Well I'm really just interested in cleaning up the engine bay, I am looking to retain the heat so i was going to be cutting the space between the core and the blower, i figured i could do it all from the front. BUT for ***** and giggles, does anyone know of a dash how-to or is it straight forward if i get to looking?

*EDIT* Ok so after looking in my car..... am i just pulling the bottom piece under the glove box and the glove box lid out and that's it?

youre removing the entire black box as well as the vent tubing thats routed underneath.
I really suggest you just pull the dash and then you will have a very good idea as to what youre working with. And the bmr plate is a very unit as well and Kyle is an awesome guy to deal with!

Its really easy to remove 10 bolts i think, i just did it 2 weeks ago. Just be careful with the dash pad cause i broke mine. I also ordered the bmr plate with the bare option and its nice i like it.

I just took my HVAC out today. I didn't pull the dash and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but, pulling the dash would have been easier. I found an aluminum delete plate on ebay and only cost me $55 shipped. HVAC delete plates seem like they are all the same to me unless I'm really missing something about a certain brand of delete plate.

I bolted mine up from the engine bay side, had to cut a couple of small holes and holes for the heater hoses. Cleaned up the engine bay. I can reach my plugs easier and I retained heat.

Yes. I started by taking off the glovebox door and unhooking the wiring to the airbag and BCM. Unbolted everything and took a chizzle to break up some of the plastic and them pulled hard on it. I did take a small blade to cut the really hard plastic. I would recommend taking the top pice off where the heater core is on the black box because the metal bar where the glove box mounts can get in the way.

Thats because you have to cut out a notch in the plastic where the blower motor is and rivet a small panel in there to seal it up. There is a write up somewhere around here on this.

We have the HVAC delete panels for 60.00 shipped and come in black, white, or silver anodized aluminum. Our design is made of .040 aluminum and is still NHRA legal and less than 1/2 the weight of the others.
