a few weeks ago at the track, i broke the top of my coolant overflow jug that holds the front of the battery down.
i know i can just replace it with the factory piece but there has to be something out there to hold the battery better than that thin plastic piece.
i dont want to just break the new piece on my next hard launch. any insight would be greatly appreciated.

.
I don't know about the stock stuff, but a race type set up is the way to go.
Look at some race cars next time at the track and there are a million excellent ideas out there.
Or ask for photo's and you'll get the idea, plastic is definitely not strong enough for the weight.

Someone used to make a bracket, that would attach at the bottom behind the battery, and attach at the top of the radiator support where the headlight's attach. I can't remember who made them but I think it would be pretty easy to make one out of a piece of 1/8 or 3/16 steel... that way you could actually have a "strap" that goes over the whole battery, holding it down, and stopping it from trying to rock backwards on you...

I made one...

Very easy to make. I bought about 4 ft of aluminum soft metal from LOWES and contoured the bends from the bottom bolt to the battery all the way up to the headlight bracket holder. (Or you can just measure) I cut the excess of course and painted it gloss black to make it more "stockish" appeal. Drill the appropriate holes to the bolts and install it.
I also put a couple of foams under the piece of metal to snug the battery better.

Yours does look really good though. It's just not something I've done.
