Just don't know which way to get air in from the VFN 5" sloped hood.
Does the air come from the cowl or from the nostrils in front of the hood.
pulls from the windshield, it's the regular sunoco not extended, so there is about a 4" gap to the windshield. I got the Idea from SAM's car, and it works...

Need to buy a hood. Not many choices out there. Leaning toward a
VFN 5" Sloped extented to windshield.
I want to get as much air into the motor as possible. Any ideals?
Do I want a hood that extends to the windshield or stops at the cowl?
Or what?
Your question was "best way" so if that's the case then a forward facing scoop with the T/B sealed to the hood is the best way. This will give you a hi pressure of intake air.

If going with a cowl hood then this picture may be helpful as to how to seal off the T/B to the hood.

Where does the 5" Sloped hood that extends to the windshield pull air from?
If the hood is resting against the windshield, I don't see much air coming in that way.
I understand, with a non-extended hood you have that 4" gap to let all the air you want in.

Yeah, the forward facing scoop would be the best way.
I haven't seen many hoods like that. Looks like a Pro Stock.
Anyone sell one?

Can't get the pic up in the photobucket.

Nobody sells a hood that way. You have to get the hood of your choice and scoop and do it yourself.

I don't know what happened to the picture I posted. I'll PM the picture to you.

Trim the hood so it doesnt touch the glass like SAM did.

It's a VFN, the one they make for the 93-97 Firebirds, it's the Extended version, which I had to trim to fit the Windsheild

It fits tighter than it looks, it's just sitting on the car in that pic

Yeah, I thought it looked like it wasn't sitting in the exact place.
