ac delete please help!
Ok I haven't found the answers I've been looking for so please someone help! I want to delete all the ac but I still want to keep the heat in my car. I found a really nice hvac delete panel from umi performance but I see that the heater core hoses run through the hvac unit. Is there any way that I could cut the ac crap out and leave the heater core and cut holes in the delete panel for the heater hoses? Or is there a better way all together? I really don't want any ac in my car what so ever I'm looking to cut weight and free up space in the engine bay, thanks.

Summit sells a light weight defroster. I don't know the part number but I'm sure someone will jump in with it. Just mount it in, cut some holes in the block off plate and run your lines.

Ask studderin. He has a bad *** setup. Seems to me that you can mount a blower motor under the center of the dash under the defrost vents, build a plastic box around it and then mount a heater core on top of it and run the lines through the HVAC delete panel. Just drill some holes through it and use a A/N fitting setup to make it look clean.

I deleted all the factory A/C stuff out of my car when I had the motor out last time. I used a BMR panel with two holes cut into for the heater lines. I used the factory lines that run from the radiator into the car for heat.
I used a dremel to make it smooth so the plate bolted down nicely against the firewall. Then I took some 3/8 thick (can't remember size) foam tape from menards and put that behind the plate to keep the air in. Heat works great, and haven't had any problems.

Yea I'd like to keep the duct work and heater core where it is I just want the ac crap gone. So cutting the 2 holes for the heater core hoses out of the hvac delete panel would allow it to bolt up?

The portion in the engine bay is bolted in to the HVAC assembly from the engine bay side as well as from inside the cabin. Inside the cabin there are 4 bolts near the panel area, and 1 in the middle of the engine bay on the firewall below the intake. 6 on the engine bay side. You will have to pull the dash to get the entire assembly out otherwise you'll have to break apart the box from the engine bay side. I had my motor out and took a hammer to the box and got it out in 5 mins no problem. Then you have to notch the internal panel near the blower door so heat can pass through to the duct work.
Here is where I notched mine at. You will have to make a cover panel here where the open space leads into the dash area. I sealed mine with RTV sealant and used some screws to secure it.
Here is where I made the panel and RTV sealant was used.

After I cut the holes out for the heater core hoses what should I used to seal around the hoses? Would rtv work ok, those hoses will get pretty hot I just don't want to use anything that could potentially cause a fire

I can speak on transam69230's behalf the heat in his car will make you sweat lol. Just do the plate with the holes cut out for the stock lines and you will be golden! Plus it makes it very easy to do plugs on that side of the motor also!
