Default My modest 01 Camaro build

Thought I'd share my build with everyone. It's nothing crazy or stupid fast, but it's mine. I have built my car for me, with the parts I like/want, with the money I can spare. I'm only 24 with a wife and 15 month old son, so of course they come first. Anyways, on to the car. The car was a stockish m6 when I bought it a few years back. Had a ported maf, and a lid. I didn't change any of that, and just took weight out. Turns out that was the gateway to how my car sits today. I was hanging with cars that I shouldn't have, but because I drove a tin can, I was capable of it. Then I swapped to a turbo 350 with an 8 inch ptc converter. I then added pacesetters which I wrapped. Added an ms4. Fired it up. Decided I didn't like it. So I sold the ls6 intake, the ms4, the pacesetters, the stock injectors, throttle body, and that brings us to the current setup.

42# speed inc injectors

Aeromotive fuel rails

Victor Jr

PatG cam spec'd for the single plane setup

Also some qtp longtubes, guess I don't have a picture but everybody knows what they look like. I had the heater lines on the water pump looped. Hated it. So I pulled the nippes out of the pump.

And put some plugs in instead.

And then I painted the pump. Not too terrible.

And the timing cover, valve covers and valley cover. No valley cover pic.

For suspension, I have a spohn torque arm. Umi adjustable panhard. LCA relocates. Unknown boxed LCAs. And I bought these bad boys.

Strange single adjustable with 275lb hypercoil springs. I bought a set of these scat/procar seats. I really like them.

And I threw one in there to see what it was like.

Will be permanently mounting them shortly. Then throwing the ozite in. The car basically doesn't have anything in it. No ac, ps, cruise, airbag, bumpers, heat, hvac assembly is gone, misc metal brackets. A LOT of stuff. The car is definitely light. I forgot to mention midwest chassis should have my tubular k member in the mail very soon. Well, thats my build more/less so far. Don't know if I did a good enough job of laying it out but there it is. I'll post more pics soon and update as I go. Appreciate comments, suggestions, questions.

Edit ~ I guess I left a little much to the imagination. Planning on a sux2bu style ram air going to a lid setup, an accufab 4150 throttle body, a carb hat of some kind. I have a 10 bolt laying around with 4.10s in it. The converter is going to be sent out to ptc to be restalled to 4400 (this is an NA build). I will swap from th350 to th400 when I get the chance. Stock heads for now. Highly considering the AI 219cc hcr heads. Bump compression to 11:1 and remain stock looking I think that's about it for now.

Very cool build. I would keep the 350 in it and the convert should be around 5000 stall. good luck and keep us posted.

I forgot to mention, the car is a street car. It'll be cruised around, street raced (don't judge), and driven to the track on occasion. That's why I chose 4400. I talked extensively to the fellas at ptc about where I should be stalled. Pretty much if I want it to be an all out drag car, 4800-5200, and if I want to give up just a bit for something a little more streetable, 4000-4500. So I picked something around the middle. Why do you suggest keeping the 350?

Yeah I know it won't be a cadillac lol. It wasn't pleasant with the 3800 stall and 3.42s. I'm just going to keep the th350 after all. I already have it. I'll build it and if I end up blowing it I'll make the switch.

I painted the intake and mocked it all up, assembled the fuel lines too

Pics may be a little big I can't tell from my phone. Saving for a 3" ss hood from vfn and a Dana 60 from strange. May not run the th350 after all. May go with the glide I've had laying around. Car will be light and won't be NA anymore. I'll hit it with a 100-150 shot right now and hit it with 250-300 after I build a new short block. Going to get heads first.

Made some progress. Got he k member, solid motor mounts, poly trans mount, and master cylinder mounted. Wiring is done, fuel lines ran, etc. Still have a lot of work left but I got it fired up.

Aeromotive part number 14147. They're much nicer than the edelbrock ones in my opinion.
