Wow, 3300....I had no idea what these cars weigh.

That's a bit of a heavyweight in my world. Mine is 2920 with me in it. (mustang).

You likely know this, but do what you can to lighten it! Everything is better!

Agreed....I hope I didn't come across as poking you with my comment. That wasn't my intention.

I'm doing a LS swap, and am totally new to the LS/Fbody world...so I'm learning something daily.
For a "full weight" car..you're doing well. Hell my stock 95GT was heavier.

Like fbodyjunkie said when ever you get the coin for a bigger converter you should pick it up. You will see a world of difference with your current converter, but it can leave some 60' on the table for sure. I have no dout you will reach your goals good luck.

A friend ran 4.56's in the stock 10 bolt, they lasted about 2 months. I ran 4.10's in a stock 10 bolt, lasted me about three weeks. Both were stick cars.

A stock bottom end LS1 can handle 10's no problem. However, your transmission and rear end will not like it for long. Especially with the gear you're running and you're undoubtedly dead hooking, Im surprised your rear end hasn't grenaded yet. The transmission is the second weakest link. Start looking into a Moser 9'' or 12 bolt. I would look into getting a 4L80e as well; they are expensive but will hold some damn power.

well Guys its the End of 2013 and my 4:56 rear end lasted this long with out any problems so i guess it was built right , also my Stock A4 is still holding up
i did swap Cams a couple months ago car went down to 11.50s @114 with 1.59 60' Sounds great to me with everything else stock , yes i did get weak and trew a cam in it but I needed a lil rumble, Winter is here so i will start a weight reduction , i.e. gut bumpers remove unwanted parts from under hood maybe even a lighter hood, i also will just replace 4.56s with 4.10 maybe will MPH more !! wish me Luck

I see you're from Slidell. I'm surprised that I haven't seen you around town. This town is small, so you don't see many cammed f bodies around.

Car is running good from what I see. I have a buddy running what you are with a TSP 228 cam in a 99 SS. He stays up in Pearl River.

I've got a friend who I've been helping. His car is a 2000 ss. We did all the lightweight suspension, removed AC, lightweight brakes, bumper supports(replaced with Midwest stuff), and some other little stuff. Race weight of the car was 3380 with him and a full bottle. It was stock bottom end with a TR trak cam, prc stage 1 243s, fast 92/92 w/ a TNT 175 shot, pacesetter headers, performa built 4l60e, yank SS4000 w/ a 12 bolt and 4.10s. Car went 10.87@123 a few months ago. Then wheelied it hard on nitrous and busted the oil pan. He got a decent pass on nitrous before he busted the ban but he wheelie it and pedaled the throttle and went a 6.29 in the 1/8th.
