Every converter/car/combo is different. One size fits all does not apply here.

My PT 4800 liked to be stalled as high as possible without pushing through the brakes.

Yank SS 4000 Stalled between 2000 to 2700. Sixty foot ranges from 1.51 to 1.55! Pinion angle was set at 1 degree in past and reset it to 2 degress today!

I get my best 60's staging at 1000-1200 and going WOT at last yellow letting off the foot brake.
4500 8" stall, 350TH, 4.10's, 1.54 60' best to date.

Tried staging at 2000-2500....just blows off the tires

Best advice on this thread. If flashing it is faster it is too tight period. I've tried brake stalling my shitty stock converter in a million different ways its a disaster. And that was on street tires. Gets worse on stickies. If you can flash faster loosen up the converter until stalling is faster.

I had a Yank SS 4000, MS4, FAST 92/92, and Pacesetter/True duals...leaving off idle I would cut 1.49-1.52 pretty consistently. When I would stall it up it would push through the brakes and just spin. Until I get a TH400 with a trans brake I plan on doing the same with my new car. I've had other guys try leaving off idle compared to their normal way of stalling it and most have picked up a little in their 60'. I know ever setup is different but that's what seems to work for me and some of my buddies
