Default Texas Mile - 150 mph in a 99 Camaro SS

I took my 99 camaro to the Texas Mile last weekend and ran 150 mph. I have headers and a 2011 LS6 intake. I also have 3.73 or 4.10 gears. Anybody know how I can hit 160 next time?

Here is a link to the video:

From what I saw you could get more mph from shifting quicker and at the right rpm. 1st gear you're shifting way early. Your other shifts seem ok other than being a little slow. Not putting down your shifting just answering your question.

That was a cool vid. I would love to do that.

Like it was mentioned, stock 3:42 gearing will get you there easy.

Other possible ways would be to run a taller tire. Or start adding more power and bumping up the rev limiter.

better shifting, skinnier wheels/tires with high air pressure, better job taping your cracks, etc

Lower the car, remove as much spare weight as possible, run open headers, and completely block off all the holes in the front bumper.

Running open headers on stock car on 1miles runs is not right in my opinion..

Put some Cam / retune it with little more RPM 6300-6500rpm and stock gears.
AND LOWER IT gaining 10mph in mile is not easy.

Congrats on 150mph very nice for stock 99 Car.
