1LE LT1 drag project build thread

Why not cut fenders? I can tell you that after cutting mine out I have no worries as far as safety is concerned, they would not do anything to help in a crash if that is why you aren't cutting them. But I'm not telling you what to do, it's your car in the end I cut 10.3 lbs out IIRC of my front fenders, I could have cut out another 1-2 lbs but I didn't think it was worth the extra effort at this time, I'll save that for later down the road.
Progress looks good man. keep it up

Thanks

I took a little weight out of the lower rad support too, I had to keep the mount for the air dam since I have a street car
And a bunch of interior brackets
Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread, but just trying to help you out. I took about 600 lbs out of my car this winter so if you need anything else let me know, I took a bunch of pictures.

Door Panels 9.5 each 19lbs
Total 253 lbs out
Anyone have a 1-2 lb solution to put back on the doors to make them look nice again?
Now for the #$% bars... not looking forward to it ... I'm not the most patient guy wielding a wrench...

Hmm
I'll leave them off totally this season to ET it then I'll put some back to make it look nice over next winter. It only has a few thousand miles on it so the car is mint, be a shame to have it LOOK like a racecar... I'll figure something out

Where are you guys putting your 1" spacer for TH400 using the M6 mount, A or B? (On top or under?)

You're very welcome. Glad I could help you out. I actually just saw it on Ebay for the first time a few days ago and had stuck it on my watch list for future reference. LOL

Boy aren't those fun lol, after I got done with mine and bolted the wheels on I got to take it all back apart and install new ones because the closed lug nuts were too short and buggered up the ends I only use open lug nuts now

Well, it's almost time to get wheels. There's some Prostars for sale but they have Goodyear rubber (I want Hoosier = lighter) and there's some Draglites for sale, but they have drag radials and street tires on the front.
So it looks like I may have to ring up Jegs. I'm 99% set on Draglites, but when I see pics I flip-flop. Argh. I'll have to make a decision soon.
This is the look I'm copying, love it. I know most like the prostars but check out the draglites. Argh I should just flip a coin. LOL.

Ok looking at these charts I may have been wrong on the Hoosiers being lighter, they look the same to me for 28x10.5
