Ebrake and cables 6.5 lbs
Transmission hump padding 3.5 lbs
Total so far 263 lbs out

It is taking more and more work to get out less and less weight now. Heh. HVAC is next. I already don't have AC (1LE) so I wonder how much the HVAC will even save me. At least it will clean up the engine bay.

I did not take off the part form the calipers yet, too far behind to start a new project

Got all the wheel studs finished today too. Had to pull the axles to do the rears.

My old TA bracket broke last year, and I had it welded and beat back into shape for street duty. It made me a bit nervous so I ordered a new one and spend the afternoon fitting it with my angle grinder.

Old one:

Finished new one beside the old one:

Get under the car with the front on ramps and wipe all the oil away from the crank snout out the timing cover, then start the car and climb under again. I found my cover seal at the snout is my culprit. There is a writeup of how to change it without pulling the timing cover.

Thanks guys.
I will clean it off and see what happens.
No drips on the garage floor so that's good I guess it only seeps while running.

Had to make a tool to take 16 lbs (8 lb each) door bars out. I just could not get it out wihtout making the tool first. I tried everything. 2 10mm on the front of the LT1 Camaro doors were just impossible without this.

Door bars: 16 lbs for both
Total out so far: 299 lbs

Are you really just throwing all this stuff away? Your old seats look mint. Too far away and too heavy to ship to me, but I bet someone local would love to buy them. That acces. bracket would be a good seller too. How were the sunvisors?
I had an E-brake cable break on me a few weeks ago, and being an M6 I need to fix it soon. It made finding a parking spot in the mountains on vacation last week a challenge. LOL

Also, if you can find anywhere to save your old heat only HVAC parts.....I'm sure that will be a highly sought after item in the near future....or if you ever decide to restore or sell your 1LE.

I've bagged and stored that stuff. I meant ripping stuff out of the car, not actually throwing it in the garbage. Sorry for the exaggeration. I'm the original owner and it only has 8,000 miles on it, oiled and stored indoors so everything is mint. It won runner up in a car show just with a wash so no worries here, it's all staying neat

Ok I think I've reached the turning point - starting to go together instead of apart!

First clean off the paint and make sure the convertor fits in pilot hole - it does!

Then fill convertor

Then stand transmission on end and spin the convertor on - it clicks and drops 3 times. Measure and it's all good!

Tilt and slide under car.

Too bad it's time to go to a couples wedding shower now argh I was so close If the torque convertor didnt fall out once under the car, making me start all over again, I might have a couple bolts on it by now. Heh. Maybe tomorrow I can get it in all the way.

Ok back to it today
The torque convertor kept falling out when I would lift the tail a bit, and I got tired of sliding the whole transmission out to install it again. So I just installed it back while it was under the car, and I'm not exactly sure if I got three clicks or two. It's in pretty deep, and measures properly from case to torque converter mounting pad, so I guess it's ok?

I put a piece of wood inside the shifter area, and hung a wire to help with muscling it in.

Then I kept rocking it back and forth stacking 2x4's to get it high enough to get my jack under. As soon as my jack was under the rest was "easy".

Not sure if he has any left, but ddr698 (member/seller on here) did have several nice driveshafts for sale at good prices. I know a few of them were for TH400 to 12 bolts. Might want to check with him and see if you can save some $$.
